Loving the new Lights car. Why can't its bigger brother be that good looking?

So they can barely get a dozen cars at the moment, so a new car is the way to solve the issue?

Reminds me of the old Star Mazda series cars of days gone by.

The car is really gravy. The new tire deal and engine deal should attract some entries. Plus the monocoque is the same as the big car. It's a much more relevant package than the current one.

If anything, it should help car count.

Hopefully it does. The car itself looks amazing :)

I don't think it looks good at all, actually. It looks a bit like the old Atlantic car at the rear. But looks is secondary concern. If it can help build a proper feeder system for Indycar, I'm all for it.

Good tast car

I assume that's Oval-spec though, hoping the road course spec car doesn't sprout an OTT rear wing.

That said, they were talking about it in the Freedom 100 and all indications are it'll have more power and less grip than the current generation, which is how racing should be!

Lights and Indycar will share the same monocoque? If that's true then it should help teams to move up to the big time as wouldn't you only need to have to buy the bits to build a full Indycar from something you all ready have? If that's the case, then this is something I was screaming about 10 years ago.

Good looking car. Perhaps when we finally get aero kits for the big cars we can get something that looks that good.

Every damn car Dallara builds looks freaking good, except the indy cars. I wonder who keeps dallara asking for ugly cars all the time.

Indycar open to production based engines.

http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/10402 ... ed-engines

Would be good if more engine manufacturers came in.

Perhaps they weren't paid enough for the design so they decided not to give a damn about it?

A new race in Brasilia is a done deal for March 8th next year to replace Sao Paulo, which will take place at Autodromo Internacional Nelson Piquet (Brasilia track).

http://www.1070thefan.com/trackside/podcast.aspx (Trackside with Curt Cavin and Kevin Lee June 3rd, 2014)

A street race at Dubai (!?) appears to be possible too. It looks like that and Brazil are going to happen. Question is where does NOLA squeeze in the schedule for next year. Also, don't be surprised (per rumors) for a an oval track to be added next year in the schedule, pending ISC.

Mark Miles wrote:
Actually, think something like Dubai. Street race. It would be an unbelievable sort of sparkling, star-studded way to start the new season abroad. And what that exposure would do for us, we'll see; whether it's more interest from investors for teams and drivers or simply to add an upscale, sophistication that comes with some of the international opportunities. Or all of the above. We'll see. It will be a good thing.

Nice that they're back in Brazil, but the track does look a bit...motorbike-y.

I assume the winter series is a non-starter, so hopefully they can go back to having a sensible schedule next year.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Dubai? :slaphead:

How about Brazil, Japan, Australia, and Mexico? And one more race in Canada?

I spoke to Scott Dixon at Indy, he asked where I was from and he replied he'd never been to Belgium. So I said Indycar should come over to Europe some day and have a race at Spa. I hope he passes that on to the Indycar chiefs now, who wants to see a race in Dubai? Or is Indycar big there? I would think most people over there never heard of Indycar before.

Never say never, but Dubai is only interested in events that stroke their egos.

Mind you they sent someone to a big conference last week in NYC to represent the circuit, so read into that what you will (dunno what the conference was for though so I'm just adding 2+2 together), find out what the conference was and you might have a clue why the circuit sent someone.
