Agree on Vettel, but at times he shows the daring character Senna had when he goes through the field.

He's UNSTOPPABLE :p

Agreed, Abu Dhabi last year showed an ability and desire to race through the field. Some positions were gained through strategy, but there were plenty of overtakes as well. When passed off the start, he's also very determined to get it back - mixing the two, a Senna like aggression and desire to pass, and a Prost like strategic awareness of the need to do so in order to execute the race plan. Monza and Spa 2011 being prime examples, with Spa this year and Singapore less decisive ones.

I do think he's a great driver, very complete. I don't necessarily like him, or the amount of wins, but you have to respect his abilities.

“I think it’s not the future"

Yes it is, Sebastian. Long after you retire, but it is.

Will be interesting to see how the tire strategy plays out.

Don't want drivers to run wide after corners?

Track - > 1ft wide kerb - > PROPER GRASS.

Sorted.

remember, the kerbs are in fact already not really the track anymore. I have no trouble that they use them, but going beyond them can not be justified, even not in qualifying.

But we wouldn't want to create anything challenging, would we?

I was half asleep during qualifying but is the soft tyre really only going to last 2 laps or so?

So Vettel and Rosberg might disappear quite early in the race and Webber will lead a lot, then he'll have to put on the softs at the end of the race and Vettel will have the cars in front of him part like the red sea and canter to another victory...

Oh well, at least Red Bull are playing the strategy game, I just hope there's a SC or something that's needed to make Webber's strategy the correct one ;)

They pretty much always say at every race that the soft will only last a few laps, but come raceday it will last a good few more laps and one or two drivers will somehow manage to make it last half the race distance.

Pirelli says the soft tyres will last max. 15 laps

Red Bull is in a worse position because they can take higher speeds through the fast turns.

Optimal strategies: [Opt-Pri-Pri] pit on lap 2/28 or [Pri-Pri-Opt] pit lap 28/57

Apparently the weather, smog, is pretty horrible again. Even better, moisture is falling (like when you have falling mist)

My rating prediction: 5/10. Vettel dominates, a couple of nice fights, little drama (one gentle collision), some interesting tactics.
10/10 would need rain and chaos or fighting in every lap and 2 SCs or Hulkenberg winning.
1/10= I fall asleep.

Red Bull have had to change some of the dog rings of Vettel's gearbox.

Got in late so wasn't going to bother waking up for this one, but woke up to go to the loo and can't go back to sleep ... maybe the race will help?
