I've always found it odd that they ran the Mercedes works livery on a BMW.

I'd never noticed that before. Does seem odd.

While the krebing has been a nice side distraction - back to BTCC 2014.

The new rules for the Jack Sears Trophy have been announced:

A little off topic don't you think kart99?

(A good idea for the Jack Sears I reckon)

I think those new rules are just going to reward bad luck tbh, rendering the trophy a bit pointless. I'd rather have seen a rookie cup.

Agreed. If Andrew Jordan ends up at the back of the grid for whatever reason, he's going to make up more places in one race than half the independents could in a whole meeting.

In the article in mentions that Daniel Welch would have been awarded the Jack Sears Trophy in 2013, so that doesn't exactly support those theories.

Or it just supports those who are crap at qualifying.

That'll only be the case for race 1. What will then probably happen is said driver who qualifies craply in race 1 will make lots of places due to unreliability and crashes, then in race 2 will lose places from his elevated grid slot, only for a driver who retired in race 1 (perhaps a front runner or someone with equal equipment) to make up an equal amount of places. The cycle then continues in race 3.

The point being that this trophy is spread over 30 races and one good race for one driver due to bad qualifying, problems like a crash or unreliability doesn't necessarily mean the trophy will be awarded to the wrong person.

Lea Wood needs to raise around £150,000 to compete next year. He is in talks with Morris Lubricants - a current sponsor - to pay the bills and it is looking likely Wood will be on the grid in 2014 going by recent FB posts.

I see that they're involved in rallying as well, they're Tom Cave's sponsor. Coincidentally enough, he ran car #43 in Wales Rally GB this year.

I hope Lea can secure the deal.

ITT we shoot holes in a great idea that's supposed to encourage more overtaking in a series that has plenty anyway.

That's TBK all over tbh :p

Now, back to the krebs?

I've been trying to find some of those pictures/videos of the Busch series cars going over the krebs at that chicane in Mexico City the first year or two they went there, but can't find any.

Found this video a few months back on an old (256MB!) SD card, in glorious 320x240. Don't remember who capped it originally
