Chris James seems to have bought the Dynamics Civic's and has signed a 'major sponsor'

Looks like the quota of fake Burberry caps and shellsuits in the pitlane will be going up again.

So maybe Burberry is his sponsor? Can you imagine him fielding a car painted this way...

Rob Austin may be another team running 3 cars going by the most recent twitter pic.

And if three cars are the way to go maybe Dynamics might be tempted...?

Personal, fantasyland request since the BTCC is getting back to its best, can we PLEAAAAAASE get Thompson back....
PLEAAAASE.
Would rather see him compete in the BTCC than drag a Lada around the back end of the WTCC grid.
Hell, I'd rather have those Ford's from Chilton's Daddy back too after they defected to the WTCC to do precisely nothing.

Sam Tordoff looks about 99.9% to remain at 888 next year, so that's good news.

Also, Fortec and United Autosport are 'very likely' to be on the grid next year. Fortec are very keen to expand.

In more news, Skoda's UK are has confirmed it will not be rallying next year, but will be doing 'something else' and Kia are apparently 'in talks' with teams about an official entry as they now consider the WTCC to 'not be the way to go'. As always, please take this with a pinch of salt till we get confirmation.

- I'm starting to think you either work for TOCA, or you are in fact Alan Gow. Either way, thank you for all the news you feed us here. It is greatly appreciated. Very exciting to see the latest developments.

I'm pretty sure most of it is from 10-Tenths isn't it, Mr. Wilkes? Or is it a coincidence that whatever I read over there appears here not long after? :p

Actually, I'm starting to use 10 tenths less and less (although it is a good source just to confirm the info I have before I post it) as I have my own little sources nowadays :p !

And to be fair I do say it's from 10 tenths most of the time I use it.

Either that or Adidas. I've never seen such a band of chav scum at a racetrack beyond a Glasgow drug dealer who used to run in the sportscars at Knockhill.

And yet you're not referring to Jerry Mahoney and / or Vic Lee.

Nah, no-one here would have heard of the guy. He only ran in the SMRC Saloons & Sportscars series.

I know exactly who you mean. Bright orange Lambo, liked to crash it.

More cars the better. They just need to open then manufacturer cup up to all makes that are entered, not just the "works" ones.

NGTC is the best thing to happen to the BTCC. Its affordable to the smaller teams (note Rob Austin) and lets them compete against the bigger budget teams. Long may it continue.

My only gripe is the MGs are too fast in a straight line and need to be slowed down.

I'm sceptical. The only info I can find on Red Phoenix is that someone called David Peace is involved. He's the technical chief of DAP Motorsport, another organisation that I can't find any info on, other than an Italian team with the same name. He has worked with BTCC teams before though. Anyway, it won't be a true Volvo without a straight-5.

Another team I'm dubious about is NHR Developments, who are looking at running SEATs. All they have is a Twitter page.

Sounds like we are going to have a pretty full grid in 2014. I'm pretty sure that it'll be on the grid as it seems like the guys who are building it know what they are doing.

True, I just get a bit suspicious when these teams don't even have websites.

I know it's way too early to get our hopes up, teams are basically just putting feelers out for next season.

But the sheer amount of balls in the air, intentions wise, means more than usual will probably turn up next year, and that should be celebrated after everything this series has been through.

Yeah, there were a few fake Twitter teams last year too. Looks like it's safe to assume a full grid though, there are more than enough legit entries looking likely.

With so many cars looking likely, is there any argument for less tweaking of performance next year as there should be enough competitive cars anyway?
