Hopefully the racing is better with the DW12 than it was with the DP01.

I can't remember those races in Champcar, was one of them a night race?

Yes the first one in 2006. They also had a ridiculous chicane, akin to that seen at Portland and Spa.

Why couldn't they just run COTA instead? Much more suitable.

Why can't you ever say anything positive? That would be much more suitable.

It sounded like the drivers that raced there in CCWS likes the track. I remember it as a pretty good track, so stop ya whining.

The previous Houston layout was better than this layout. Never liked this track in Champ Cars.

I see they are adding a chicane.

Temporary street track in track-falling-to-bits-already with daft chicane being added shocker.

Get these stupid sodding street tracks off the schedule and get back to the Glen, Road America etc etc ad nauseum.

In other news - all is fine. No need for complaint.

But you see, this *is* the joy of Indycar. Most Professional Racing Series.

Street circuits are always good for lulz. There's a small chance of rain on Saturday. Especially if that happens, I'll turn off the commentary and watch the race with Yakety Sax on repeat. :p

Quote:
But the main calling card for the session were the accidents that left two cars needing significant repairs before the second outing later this afternoon.

The first came when Josef Newgarden fell victim to the extremely narrow gap provided by the makeshift chicane and ploughed into the tyre stack on the left side of the track.

Later, reigning series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay was launched skyward after thumping into the kerbing at Turn 2 and landed in the inside wall.

Yea, really safe track!

I never liked this track and I was number 1 "champcar is god, worship at thy altar" fan boy

Tho apparently the touring car race before indycar practice had the cars get major airbornes so that's delayed the schedule and caused a chicane.

Qualy tomorrow morning. ...qualy 2 for race 2 Sunday morning.

Yup, it was a practice session for the World Challenge touring car classes. Damage and mayhem all round and the teams really aren't happy with the state of the track, apparently.
