Just two races into the Chase, and it's evident that Matt, Kyle, and Jimmie have turned this into a three-horse race for the title.

Can Kenseth go for 3 wins in a row? Will Kyle Busch or Jimmie Johnson break out? Could someone else sneak back into the championship battle?

Sprint Cup Entry List (43 cars)

Trucks in Vegas by themselves, always been weak fields. I honestly wish they would give the Vegas date to Atlanta, that way its at least closer to most of the teams.

...and yet, at its worst, it's still infinitely more competitive than a modern day F1 race.

Mock qualifying runs going on at the end of practice. They are fucking FAST. Kenseth currently on top at 163.4 mph...

Beyond the start of a race, I have a pretty rough time with F1 these days. Maybe it's because I'm not into the whole strategy angle ("There's a brief moment where stuff may or may not happen!"), but we seem to be far-removed from the relationship between the man controlling the machine, now rather focussing than the relationship between the engineers and the machine.

For example, we know Kyle Busch is a great driver (just like Seb... although some would argue that, I don't know), but that JGR team is also insanely strong (just like Red Bull). It stinks up the show up at the front, and I may only be speaking for myself, but decent battles happening mid-pack don't interest me all that much.

Just sayin'. :)

In any case, wrong thread for this kind of BS. haha

Also, Kenseth seems stronger now than Smoke ever did with that team. Mid-to-late 2005 was a pretty amazing stretch, but this has seemed to be even more dominant.

At least to me, anyway. No disrespect to Tony Stewart or his fans. *shrugs*

I enjoyed following qualifying on the Fox Sports website. Loads of comments from people along the lines of

"HMS and Jr should be ashamed of themselves to cheat their way to pole" :p

Not only do the trucks have a stand-alone race, the K&N West series has a race in Albuquerque this weekend, so that is why any west-coast team or driver isn't entered. I think there might be a couple of start and parks added, like another RSS truck or two and Norm Benning's backup truck.

It would've made too much sense to have the K&N cars with the Trucks this weekend.

Might be looking at a bump to ESPNEWS here. Still 9 minutes left on the clock in WV.

edit: looks like there is a live game on that channel as well.

editedit: coverage on ESPN Classic. (no HD feed for me :( )

Didn't know they'd started the race now, why not after Grand Am finished?

Because they only own Grand-am so they can make sure no-one watches it and it can't be a threat.

I guess they couldn't give 2 shits about it now it's going to be TUSC next year anyway.
