This week, the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will head to historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in what will likely be an overhyped and underwhelming spectacle....

But never mind that shit, because it's time for MOTHAFUCKIN' ELDORA. Wednesday's Truck race will mark the first time in 43 years that one of NASCAR's "Big 3" series will compete on a dirt surface. Such is the case for road course events, there will be a handful of ringers with various degrees of dirt racing experience trying to take the crown, such as Dave Blaney, Kenny Wallace, Ken Schrader, Scott Bloomquist, and Tracy Hines among others.

Sprint Cup @ Indy Entry List (45 cars)
Nationwide @ Indy Entry List (42 cars)
Trucks @ Eldora Entry List (35 trucks)
ARCA @ NJMP Entry List (30 cars)

Can't wait for the Trooks race. Couldn't care less about the cars, though.

Word of warning, if you've never been, Eldora is off the beaten path. The only to and from the track is one two-lane road, and the interstate is miles away. Consequently, get there early and anticipate a huge post-race traffic jam.

That being said, you'll love it. I went for the Prelude in 2008 and had one hell of a time.

I am looking forward to this.

Sounds like the kind of place that I'd bunk down in the car for the night at if traffic is that bad.

High-banked half-mile dirt track in the middle of nowhere, Ohio.

Ok, now that's over with, moving on.

I predict early lap spinfest at Eldora then things calming down after 30 laps or so....

This is one race where I'd LOVE to watch practice and qualy though, just to see how the teams adjust to dirt...

the drivers need to learn to turn right to go left, plus I think they expect some teams will need time to repair stuff, practice is live on Speed tomorrow (midnight our time) and the race 7.30 Wednesday (00.30 for us).

Those of you lucky enough to have Premier Sports, this is one of their live truck races, so take Thursday as a sickie cos you can watch it live without having to seek out a stream, and it's a good time that the Mrs won't moan about it interrupting her Eastbendale Street shit.

So that means on Wednesday I'm at Speedway from 7pm then home in time for more racing on dirt.

Bikes and Trooks, best Wednesday ever

Doesn't the race start at 9:35 local time, though? That would be 2:35am in the UK by my calculations. Where did you get those times from?

Where it says 'NCWTS Practice' at 7 PM is actually when qualifying starts and qualifying for this race will be done using heat races, so Ian rightfully mentioned it as the start time since those heat races will be as exciting as the main. :)
