Apparently there's a crash at the Porsche curves.

Looks like Tor Graves has binned it in the same place as warm up this morning.

So some teams are not telling their drivers yet?

Now the Eurosport director will be enjoying this, having a little play with the CCTV now.

7h53m LMP2 But it is the #25 Delta-ADR in the hedge at the entry to the first part of the Porsche Curves. Tor Graves it is indeed at the wheel of that damaged machine.

You have to feel for Christoffer Nygaard and Kristian Poulsen. Last year the car retired early with engine problems and I think Simonsen did all of those laps.

what I find a bit weird is that you don't see it coming. The Audi's have good race pace, and all of a sudden they are pushed into the garage...

Why would they really? Race has not stopped... between stints what the drivers do; interact mostly with the team, get massage, sleep, maybe do couple of tweets? Probably not that hard to _not_ hear about it by accident.

Does anyone have (or can make) a screen grab of repairs to the barriers after Simonsen's crash and you could clearly see the tree he had contacted?

I think it's shocking they would have such a hazard, even if it is a rather long way from the racing line... didn't Rockenfeller have a very similar crash there?

I remember Fisichella having some great battles with Simonsen back when the latter was driving the Hankook Ferrari. Must be tough for a lot of the GT driver especially

I think they should just leave some cameras open but no one behind them. That would mean no zooming or moving cameras but they would show the race still. Located at some key points, probably both Mulsanne straight chicanes, Mulsanne Corner, Arnage (with showing Indianapolis as well), Porsche curves and the common section with Bugatti circuit.

Simonsen has been a big part of the Ferrari racing family for many years.

That's annoying. The 4th place #91 Porsche has lost about one and a half minutes to the top-3 due to this safety car period. At least the top-3 are all together, but Timo Bernhard was actually closing in on the others...

I go to sleep for few hours, will wake up in three hours (also to watch NHL finals), see few hours, go to sleep again and then probably watch remainder of the race at some point.

I was thinking that it'd be a really nice touch if they had a moments silence at 3:08pm Local time tomorrow in honour of Allan.

Everyone will be there and it'd just be before the post-race celebrations, which are going to be muted anyway, so it makes sense to do it at the time 1 day after his fatal crash.
