I usually focus on drivers I like the most, then the cars, then the team. :p

Edit: well crap, I've already annulled that reasoning by specifically rooting for ProSpeed in GT Am. But that's because they are one bunch of amazing people who deserve to win everything they enter

Well, crap....

Work have now scheduled me in until 5pm tomorrow, meaning I'll miss the first couple of hours :(

Hope for a big Drapeau Rouge in the Legends race so the start has to be delayed :p

Plz start chat without me *sigh*

I remember many years ago when Calum Lockie entered the first diesel engined car at Le Mans. It was miles off the pace because at the time diesel power was a completely new technology in racing.

Found some more details here - http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=97&i=8355

2004 was the year, seems to get forgotten in all the current day diesel versus petrol, hybrid and other Garage 56 stuff.

Oh God there's a name from the past, is he still racing? not strangled anybody yet then I guess

The DW should get a much longer stint that regular cars. Larger fuel tank and smaller engine. So lets say it gets a 20 lap stint. It's going to do 1/20 of the race under electric power? That's...worthless.

We went down to the stand to see it. They have a banner up saying "if everybody likes what you're doing, you're doing it wrong" which basically means they're saying anyone who hates it is wrong. What a bunch of pretentious cock bags.

Regardless of what I think about it, how do you conclude that from that statement? I read that as "it's okay that you don't like it".

(Daft Punk have used the exact same statement with regards to the response of their album, for example :p)

Because its classic Darren Cox bullshit. It's all "oh you just don't get us, we're cool" crap. It's exactly what Nissan do. The previous DW, the new DW, the Juke GTR, it's all marketed as "LOL were cool. If you don't get us you're not down with the kids man"

Nissan need to man up and race against someone with competition rather than just being the only decent P2 engine supplier and a car that races in its own class with no rules.

Essentially my issue is Nissan are all talk and PR and not enough racing. This is a motor race. Start building proper cars and race then rather than taping electric motors to hacked up old chassis and pretending it's well wicked.

The only thing I liked about the DW was it looked a bit cool in a world of Prototypes that aren't looking their best these days....

Now they've gone an added a giant chimney stack of a cockpit and ruined the one thing I liked, ehhh, pretty forgettable now then.

I predict it won't finish....

They should put a GTR in GT. Actually a lot of the automotive companies should put their cars in GT. I know there's probably regulations that prevent some if not all of these from running the race, but it would be cool to see the SLS and maybe a couple R8's and even a Gallardo or two going around La Sarthe. I know the Bentley is coming next year and that will be fantastic, I just think the more diversity the better in GT even though it's pretty good already. One can dream I guess :p

There's nothing that prevents them from doing that, it's just that GT3 is cheaper and has more customer-team-potential.

Excellent post, you summed it up well. I noticed Nissan were practically running the P2 market so they got very little competition from Honda, Judd and even Lotus.

It is a shame that manufacturers are jumping onto the Le Mans bandwagon with minimum effort, just splash some cash and slap their name on a car like Caterham, Alphine, Nissan and Lotus. Now Nissan is doing the same.

I wonder if they are going to show the fact that their fastest qualifying lap will be on batteries? How are we going to know the specific lap or stint is on batteries?
