Can't believe there is no topic for this one yet, with action due to kick off in less than 2 days.

This will be the 71st edition of the Grand Prix on the streets of Monaco, also called 'The Hungaroring with the Houses'.

Either we have a real boring race (like last year) or a nailbiter (like 2004), ocassionaly with a poor (2011) or controversial (2010) finish.

Can Mercedes go for a front row again and win by making one of its cars hold the rest of the field up?

Personally, I don't have a clue as to who might win, and I like that.

It's Indy Sunday, nobody cares about Monaco. I don't understand why they insist on holding these 2 races on the same day so often. Choose different dates you idiots, you're stealing each others spotlight.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I think it's the other way round, The Hungaroring is like Monaco without houses.

The same like they say that Bruges is the Venice of the North. You don't say that Venice is the Bruges of the South... :D

And I am looking forward to this race.

You simply don't know what to expect... sometimes nothing seems to happen, sometimes its quite entertaining with incidents.

But just watching those cars go round at this street circuit is good for me!

They've gradually taken the challenges away over the years - removing barriers from the first corner and the swimming pool chicane, and ruining the entry to Rascasse - but it's still Monaco. It's still one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar. It's still one of the races I look forward to the most. I only wish I could afford to go back there.

I understand the argument for running Monaco and Indy on separate weekends, but at the same time it makes the weekend rather special. I love watching 2 big races on the same day. Monaco is the starter, and Indy is the main course. The Coke 600 tends to be the food poisoning that follows.

This is a perfectly worded summary of the races Memorial Day weekend.

It's utterly bonkers that they're still allowed to race in Monaco. Some of the challenge has been removed - we don't see as many crashes as we used to because there is a little bit of run-off at Ste Devote and Piscine.

Let's hope the GP2 chaps decide not to use their cars as weapons this weekend.

Well he did win last year.

Then promptly caused a 10 car pile up in the sprint race.

To be fair, many more people will care about Monaco rather than Indy. You ask the man in the street which one will they be watching and they will say Monaco.

Phantom yellows! Yay! Phantom red flag and phantom car in the harbor. :8:

Anyway, I love Monaco. Even though the race may suck and I give it a 2/10, before the race finishes you don't know who wins, whether there will be a SC or leader crashes at Rascasse. In the last few years the GPs have been amazingly uneventful, but at some point it must change. Rain would help, but no chance this year.
And among season opener it's a race weekend I don't wanna miss a single session. I'm ready for FP1 on Thursday.

And speaking of Indy, since Finnish channels have never shown Indy here (live or highlights), I prefer Monaco over Indy 100-0.

I'm a bit peeved that it's on Sky, but the only really dreadful Monaco race recently was 2009.

Always looking forward this one, although I might miss most of it this year.

No live action for me on Thursday and Friday, might miss most of the race due to a major hangover (no matter what the outcome of the CL final will be :p )...so yeah, only FP3 and QLF for me this year :flag:

Monaco is in the afternoon, indy in the early evening. Perfect timing it is. :flag:
