According to Hindy, that IS the LM date. That can't be right.

Edit: apparently LM is confirmed elsewhere as 14/15, but really we won't know until the FIA calendar in September.

This just in:
Quote:
In order to preserve the historic date of the Le Mans 24 Hours, which this year celebrated its 90th edition, the date of 14/15 June 2014 has been retained to ensure that a Formula One Grand Prix is not hosted the same weekend.

ACO have announced a date of what is also an FIA sanctioned race before the FIA Calendar. Expecting that might cause a fuss.

It was on the ACO Facebook before the FIA Press Release. Did that last year then moved it for a GP which never happened.

FB post 3 hours ago, the WMSC release was obviously first. Iirc last year there was no WMSC decision about this at this time, so it seems more like this was now made to avoid repeating last year's farce.

They posted it last night before removing it. It's why RLM and Eurosport confirmed it yesterday. Either way, they did this last year, then moved it for the NJGP, which never happened, and that looks like it MIGHT still happen next year.

Basically the ACO can't organise anything, and the FIA can't organise anything, and we've got to sit and watch them try to organise something together. :p

In that case ACO's facebook person probably just posted it prematurely. Of course ACO had to know already what date they had proposed to WMSC to be rubber stamped, but the difference is still that now the date is WMSC approved, an year ago it wasn't (just checked) so it had to be only ACO's solo decision back then.

This year's date almost became a total farce when the Jersey GP replacement was being looked at, if a replacement had been found and held in Europe in June, the LM weekend would have been the only option :p

I don't want to be an annoying fanboy, but I'd really pay quite some money to see a video from around that same time, but from the #25 of Maxime Martin, who was 40 seconds faster than the rest at the time.

at least the fastest lap of the race is available
