I know it's his job to big up nascar but damn. That's some ignorance right there.

The only thing Indycar needs to follow NASCAR in is maybe investing in a giant jet dryer for wet oval races like NASCAR have.

Other than that, NASCAR could take a few pages out of the Indycar book tbh.

Gutted I missed the race.

Seen the video of the finish.

I once said that a GWC system for Indycar would be preferable to having awesome races finish in the most anti-climatic fashion.

However, a little part of me cannot help but think that the lack of a GWC style finish today probably prevented a freakin' massive accident, looking at how they were racing just before the final caution, and going by Twitter / Facebook comments alone.

I'm no follower of Kanaan but I know he's been in it a long time and is a nice chap, so am pleased to hear him taking an Indy 500.

It isn't called the Indy 500+. I like the GWC for Nascar. But sometimes tradition is more valuable than show (IMO).

And well let's just Ignore NASCAR's ignorance  .

This. I don't think I've ever heard a crowd so loud and emotionally charged at Indy in a long time. They were going nuts for TK.

Being there for the race, that was the most electric crowd I've ever heard at a motorsport event. There's nothing that compares to the roar when TK took the lead, it felt like being in the confines of Augusta National instead of Indianapolis.

So we're back at the room, and wow.

I won $10 in the pool our group had with Kanaan winning, so that was good.

Chin and I sat upstairs in turn 1, same seats I had last year with my dad. The crowd went bonkers when TK was going into the lead during the last 20 laps, and after the yellow came out with Dario, just about everyone lost it. Someone in the seats below ours actually released confetti in the air.

Our drive to and from the track went quickly, and everyone had a good time.

Also, Graham Rahal and James Jakes were hit with $10,000 fines during the race for blend line violations. Barfield said that they "went Bobby Unser on me."

Here's Jack, his little brother, myself and Chin when we got to the track this morning.

Here's TK and the team kissing the bricks.

Great race, finally Kanaan wins Indianapolis.

Also it was the fastest Indy 500 ever

Broke basically all the records one could break. Most lead changes, most different leaders, fastest 500 ever. As was mentioned, this was a Hanford Device style Indy 500 and man, it was good. The cool temperatures actually made handling much less of an issue than I thought it would and I am VERY relieved that the weather didn't lead to '92 style of demolition derby. Safe race, really exciting, differing strategies, AJ driving like a demon, Marco driving very smart, but in the end the cagy veteran gets the jump on the restart and wins.

At the beginning of the race I said I wanted Marco, AJ or Tony to win. So pleased that all 3 were in the hunt to the end. 9/10 only because it didn't end under green... But that's OK. I DO NOT want GWC finishes. They have no place in open wheel racing.

Not only once, but 1, 2, 3! (I've learned to count till 3 with Ashley Judd!) :p

I think everyone can count to three like Ashley Judd Franchitti.

How nice was it not having to see that wench and her stupid hats this year? I think she was the root for a lot of my disdain towards Dario....though it was nice to see him struggle all day.

And not only that, there's one notable similarity with their wins.
