Big relief! The spectator video a couple of metres from where the wheel comes to rest is just scary.

Thank God. I'm just glad that everyone's alright. A simple racing incident with unintended horrific results.

I don't remember seeing anybody mentioning this but appearently the cameraman closest to where Larson's car hit the fence is fine but very lucky, obviously.

I've seen Nascars fly into the catch fence before at Daytona and Talladega but I've never seen that much debris fly into the stands.

Makes you realise that at those speeds if debris was coming at you, you'd be hit before you knew what was going on

Yes, you can see him running away from the impact in the picture trout posted. One very lucky man as his camera got crushed.

So good to hear that those who were critical have been stabilised and there's been no casualties, a horrible crash but very glad it's not been any worse ...

Woke up and turned on ESPN and they reported many of the fans who went to the hospital have been released. Including a woman, who left in a wheel chair, who said she would definitely be attending the 500 no matter where her seats were.

Very good to hear and I hope a speedy recovery for everyone.
