the fact kyle petty called richard "the king" when he talks about him is quite creepy.

Tony Stewart said that Kyle Larson was "The Next Jeff Gordon" but he drove like the next Busch brother tonight.

Just saw the Nationwide Series entry list. There were a couple of entries I wasn't expecting. One of them was Michael McDowell in a #27 Toyota owned by Derek White. Also, Bobby Gerhart is entered in his own #85 Lucas Oil Chevy. Also, some of the usual start and park teams (#42, #46 and #47) are not entered. There are a total of 45 cars entered.

Curtis Key doesn't plan on parking a fleet this year. Also, the 27 is actually the 3rd SR2 Motorsports car. The other 2 are the 00 and 24. THey bought the 81 team, just never announced the new number.

If this is the most prestigious short track event of the year, is the Grand-Am race at Indianapolis the most prestigious sports car even of the year?

In all seriousness i don't agree with Larson's punt either, but its pathetic how many people are throwing his past out the window and jumping down his throat because of this, Larson is a very humble kid and i have never seen him talk smack at anyone or intentionally take anyone out, and now because of one mistake hes suddenly the new kyle Busch.

I didn't like the move either and it really surprised me he did that , but some of you need to take a step back at look at it from a different perspective.

Non points race with 15k on the line and he thought he had a shot for the win, give the kid a break.

Or who knows maybe Larson snapped after coming 2nd to John Wes Townley in ARCA.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of making a move like that... people weren't big fans of Rusty Wallace making such a move at The Winston, either. As popular as Dale Earnhardt was, he still got booed like crazy after the '99 Bristol night race.

I'm not condoning what Larson did, nor am I comparing the kid to Wallace or Earnhardt. At the same time, the kid wanted to show the world just how badly he wanted to win a race at Daytona. An inaugural race, one with no points on the line, at that. People are bound to take notice of that, whether they agree with it or not.

To a kid so early in his NASCAR career, that's not a bad thing.

Drivers are always super humble on their way up. They need to be to attract sponsors before they have proven their driving ability. Remember how humble Denny Hamlin was? He is now one of the biggest douchebags in the sport. I don't care how nice Larson was. Go watch an interview with Kyle Busch from 2004. He was actually sort of likable. Larson should've known that many people would be seeing him for the first time last night. And yeah, he's got a full time ride in the nationwide this season and cup ride in the future, no need to be a dick. Falk should've beaten him to a pulp.

Go ahead and say I'm overreacting, but my opinion of him will never be positive. There are plenty of other young guys out there who seem to have much more respect on the track.

I also once hated Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick for everything I was worth. There's even short periods of time where, when he decides not to act like a total douchebag, that Kyle Busch is somewhat likeable. Then he goes and fucks it all up again, of course, but that's beside the point.

I definitely believe that although people might look down on what Kyle did last night, he'll win folks back. The guy just wanted to win that badly, that he didn't give two shits about what they thought of how he did it. He pretty much said on Twitter last night, "Not my proudest moment, but I wanted to win at Daytona."

You can't fault the guy for racing the way the "best of the best" Cup drivers are willing to race these days. *shrugs*

I'm now fully confident SPEED will pre-empt the Trucks post-race to show "R U Faster Than A Redneck", then air it on RaceHub the next morning.

Looks like.....something....has started but I can't tell if there was just a pile up or my stream froze with a lot of cars in turn 3...

Safety Car is out now so I guess it leans towards the first theory but it's just one locked off shot, hard to work out what's going on.

Was it like this yesterday?

*edit* Looks like the director just woke up, AFTER the chequered flag....*sigh*

TBK light's favourite driver Kyle Larson spins and then deliberately waits to bring out the caution before immediately setting off again.

It's like he's trying to play the badguy role
