but why would he not want to test?

Every track time in whatever car on whatever track is a good thing, not?

I read something about that it might "hurt his reputation" if he's not quick enough. I doubt this is the real reason though.

That would be a BS and frankly rather pathetic reason.

If DAMS are that upset, I'd be happy to throw their car off the tarmac for an afternoon.

Am I the only one that thinks Perez hasn't been as bad as everyone has made out? Yes there have been times where he hasn't been as good as he should have been, but he has also had his fair share of bad luck. I think McLaren are using the excuse of this years piece of crap to warrant getting rid of him. You don't go from looking like one of the bright young stars to utter rubbish in one year.

Kumho apparently ran a 3-day F1-spec tyre test at Barcelona back in September using an AutoGP car driven by Sung Hak Moon.

Nope, I think this McLaren is the worst they designed in as long as I can remember. Maybe 1994, 1995 can top it in terms of results but still.
It would be fair to give him at least 1 more season

Youre not. And while I like Kevin a lot and think hes insanely talented, Id rather he gets Jensons seat then checos. Hes had consistency problems sure. But its not easy to be consistent in a dog of a car. Id be sad to see him go.

I wouldn't say he is insanely talented but it's foolish to expect someone to jump into a shitbox of a car and do better than their World Champion team mate who is performing no better himself, unless they are saying Jenson is shit and Perez should be running rings around him. In which case McLaren really have let the lunatics out the asylum if they consider their number 1 driver crap.

Would it be crazy to think that reasons behind these rumors are that McLaren is still trying to get Alonso and Perez himself is looking at alternatives and is about to jump ship because he rather driver for a potential slower team (Lotus, FI, Sauber) rather than sitting home next season and that Magnussen is McLaren's backup plan in case Perez indeed leaves and they cant get Alonso?

Not saying he will but McLaren seems to believe they can/could lure him away.

And frankly, I'm kinda shocked he isn't fired yet. They sacked Prost for less.

I've been arguing this same point for quite a while.

Another Ferrari, in 70's style.

-Edit-

And in Chilton's defence, I like this "fact":

Since the summer break, only one driver has won more Grands Prix than Max Chilton.

That 70's Ferrari looks cool. Just need someone better to photoshop it, makes it look cheap.
