Because F1 is a multi-billion dollar sport watched by millions of people around the world. Not a nice little Sunday afternoon drive. I like Rubens, and therefore I think it's a shame that he's going to embarrass himself on an international platform.

As far as I am aware, Massa is not interested in moving that far down the grid.

who else would be dumb enough to take Massa?

Lotus are supposedly interested.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

That's what I've read also. Wonder what that means for Grosjean.

yeah, ok...they are dumb enough but with the ongoing rumors about their financial position they'll likely wont be up the grid much further than Sauber.

I think Martin Brundle and Mark Blundell at Brabham and later Ligier where worse :beard:

That depends on what money is coming from Brazil, which could be substantial with Nasr. Although I don't expect to see Lotus be anywhere near as competitive without Kimi.

I play football, but not gifted with Messi's talent.

But if Barça or Real Madrid wants me to sign a contract and I have the chance to play in front of 80000 people, I don't care if I will embarrass myself. Just the fact I would be there would be like a dream come true.

So for Rubens perhaps he misses F1 a lot, and it'll be a dream of him to rejoin F1.

You really can't blame him for that.

Rubens has had his chance to dream. That's the point.

But you don't understand, he wants to have another chance. And who wouldn't? It's like having the best ice cream in the world - after you've finished it, you want to have another one. And who are we to judge that.

Another chance to do what? He's never going to win unless he's in a Red Bull, and that's never going to happen, if he feels he didn't get a chance to show the world his talents at Ferrari, then he should have never stuck it out there as long as he did. Looks like he's trying to do a Riccardo Patrese to me.

If he just wants to race, then he had that opportunity in Indycars and walked away from it, so why F1, is trotting around mid-field in F1 really any better than Indycars or Stock Car Brazil?

I understand perfectly. But he's had his chance(s). Now he's clinging on with his fingernails. It's like having an ice cream and then scrapping the bowl as much as possible as well as trying to lick every last bit, even though in reality you've finished your ice cream.

He should have walked away after Brawn GP, that was his best chance and the high point of his career. I agree he's never going to achieve great success but perhaps he can get some satisfaction from developing the car, that was the only reason I could see for De La Rosa repeatedly finding drives once he was past his best.

While I would rather see hulkenberg and valsechi with nasr taking another year in gp2. This would be the greatest name teaming ever, confusion will ensure.

I would worry nasr would be the same as guitierez. It was too soon for him, another year in gp2 challenging for the title would have been good for him.

me and my friend we use to mix team mates names just to fool around, having fun with legendary names like Scott Boesel and Nigel Prost, or even Jimmy Zanardi :p

but our hell were 2008 Toro Rosso drivers

I would laugh my ass off if Sauber ends up making a race-winning car next year and Rubens gets a win or two.

I don't think anyone could begrudge that scenario happening.

if something good happens next season like high component failure rate, changeable conditions, this sort of thing quite likely to happen
