At least he appears to have spent it doing something useful, like reading and broadening ones knowledge.

choosing Kimi over Massa is a risk given the Finn never really was significantly better than the Brazilian.

but I guess it's that consistency that does it, and Ferrari are right to go for it. In the end, they always say the team's interest comes first. Maybe finally they will put it into practice.

F1 is slowly waking up from the summer break.

Not sure that the ALO-Montezemolo relationship improved during August. Kimi now lined up as a swap, with VET going red in 2015

But post "bump on the chin" Massa has never looked like half the driver he was.

knock on the chin I believe it was. I really don't dare imagine what EJ would have gone through if the consequences would have been worse

btw, where is Eddie when you need him with all these rumours flying around??

Fernando is being hilarious again.

If the brave man does not flinch because he has higher goals, then Alonso must be a complete coward given how much he swung that sword last season.

I can't believe how anyone can admire Alonso away from his driving skills. He's caused trouble in every team he has driven for and seems to have set Maranello on fire.

anyway, it was just a matter of time with the years going by without a title.

If that swap rumour is true, I dearly hope Kimi wins the title in 2014 as I'd love to see the egg on Alonso's face. Great driver. Awful sportsman.

It is weird that if the swap rumours are indeed true, then it will be the second time that the team based in Enstone has bailed Alonso out of a great team that he has caused relationship issues with. And yet this is the same team he has himself treated badly twice before.

Based on what? Lotus still wants him. If the rumours about Ferrari are not true, and Lotus doesn't go bankrupt, Kimi should be in the grid for sure.

I predict that with all this talk of potential rain in the run up to a GP, as normal there will be no rain affecting the race on Sunday. No need to thank me.
