Lucien Bianchi and Graham Hill, Monaco 1968 (the race where Lucien scored his only podium in F1, Graham won the race)

Five drivers finished and even Lucien Bianchi was four laps down so I think Hill is looking to lap him in this pic.

REAL RACIN'. F1 so boring nowadays with their close gaps.

60's F1 was about staying on the track for long enough to survive, yet alone worrying about lap times and racing.

Seems there was always a race lost in the last lap or last couple of laps in that era. So I guess what that meant was that there was a genuine sense of excitement and anticipation as you never knew if the drivers were going to finish or not. These days its almost a forgone conclusion that someone will finish, its an outlier if say 6 cars fail to finish.

I was crestfallen when Hakkinen went caput in Barcelona 2001, now imagine that a couple times a year! throughout the entire field.

Around 1987...the programmes were standardized for each year.
