So Alonso needs to finish in 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Brazil. With Vettel finishing 5th/8th/10th or lower depending on Alonso's finishing position. Either of those 3 scenarios are very possible when you consider mechanical issues, accidents or wet weather. This championship is far from wrapped up...

Sky just showed what Seb was moaning about. It wasn't Lewis, or DRS, it was the HRT parked in the esses. Kathikeyan went in not far ahead of them, was incredibly slow throughout and then panicked and parked in the middle of a corner. It's a difficult one to judge because the HRT was in a hard spot, but Vettel should be rightfully annoyed at that, he lost a HUGE amount of time from the HRT messing about and then panicking.

But this doesnt fit to Vettel´s crybaby image :(

I was just wondering, if Kimi will finish the race next week, does he then have the record of finishing most - and all - races during one season? :)

It's tough I know. :p I think any driver would be pissed at that though. The HRT was just faffing around in the middle of the track at half speed before slamming on the brakes and going to the outside. It's a pretty good example of how not to deal with traffic.

But you can't really claim he wasn't yielding to blue flags because it was in the esses which is normally 1 line only, and you could argue the HRT is such a badly setup car that he was always going to be in the way lol. I understand exactly why Seb was pissed at that but it's not worth a penalty for HRT I suppose. Had it happened anywhere else on the track then yeah.

Alonso was complaining about Michael in qualifying too, but Michael was on a fast lap. Well, fast by Mercedes standards, so didn't have to move!

I'd be pissed at that HRT too but I'm more pissed at the fact that it cost us viewers a legit fight for the lead between Seb and Lewis.

I was enjoying watching that battle develop. With Lewis closing in Sector 1. And Vettel responding by pulling out just far enough in Sector 2. Would've been great to see how that culminated. But sadly the HRT decided to get some extra screentime at just the wrong moment, and essentially glued Lewis right up to Seb's gearbox.

I think Alonso is at least on the same level as Vettel in regard to crying and complaining about everything.

I'm very happy F1 returned to USA in such a triumphly way.

This GP was certainly a total success with a huge passionate crowd at the circuit, genuine battles all the way through the whole race and drivers showing skill to overtake/defend rather than DRS just making fake passes and SCs with it's artificial entertainment.

This race was what I always expect from a GP. Shame that the backmarker that was about to be lapped destroyed the battle lead that could've lasted much longer(possibly all the way to the finish line). Who was him, anyway, please so I can add as one of the farces?

The way Massa started banging laps in over the last few laps, it's kinda feels like Ferrari held him at 10 seconds back because they didn't want for the lack of a better word, the indignity, of giving Massa a grid penalty to aid Alonso and yet Massa spending the last half dozen laps tripping over himself trying not to end up ahead of Alonso. Fernando probably wasn't going full pelt, but Massa was going at the same rate leaders and over of the race, Alonso lost about 0.75s a lap.

I felt that too. I know right now we're sitting with the best 3 drivers in F1 on the podium, but Alonso I'm not rating as highly now days. He's actually being out preformed by his team mate, who really isn't that good, and has been for a number of races, just when he needs to make it count.

I've always rated Alonso as a good driver under pressure. But Dave do you think all this is a result of him under the championship pressure, and Massa driving more relaxed with obviously no championship pressure and having the 2013 contract in the bag?

Not really. Fernando has never really had a problem with pressure. You could argue he did at McLaren, but I think he got shafted by Ron a bit there, so was always going to struggle for it. Either way, I think he is massively under performing at the moment, right at a time when he can't afford it. Today he was VERY lucky to get swapped on the grid and have Webber DNF.

Simon 'FakeJake' Lazenby hasn't worked out that Bernie makes interviews awkward on purpose yet, and sits there with big silences between questions. Imagine how bad he'd be at interviewing Kimi.

I've always enjoyed Martin's interviews of Bernie best.

So Fernando is proud of Ferrari for demoting Massa with the grid penalty? Interesting choice of words there.

He will sell his grandma for the title, so don't expect a wise choice of words from him about his team mate... :flag:
