It's not as though there usual strategy has been unsuccessful since 2009.

I thoroughly object to what RBR were allowed to do by starting from the pitlane. I know it is in the rules, but under normal circumstances teams are only allowed to remove cars from the parc ferme and make changes to that car if there is an issue or a safety concern. RBR were given a post quali penalty for a rules infringement and yet were then permitted to make wholesale set up changes which meant the penalty served as an advantage.

Hamilton's car was also short geared as he hit the rev limiter quite hard in the pole lap. That sort of proves that the shorter gear ratio was generally quicker around the Abu Dhabi circuit. As long as you do not have to fight trough dozens of midfield cars, the lack of top speed by the shorter gear ratio gets compensated by the higher agility out of the corners. No need to rethink setup strategies for RBR as long as they qualify high.

I also thoroughly object to 5 hour delays between qualifying finishing and penalties being handed out.

And Stop-go penalties for once incident when others had at least 2 and got away without even a drive through was a bit random as well.

Ho-hum, its the FIA, gloriously consistent in their inconsistency...nothing new there.

Maybe they need to change the parc ferme rule. Let teams to be free in using qualifying and race setups. That will be a lot better. When it rains every car is undriveable now. Let teams be free to change the car after qualifying.

And also bring Sunday morning warm up at that.

Indeed, would be a great way to fill the boring 2 hour gap between the Porsche race and the F1 Race if it was brought back.

I know Bernie, for some reason, specifically demands those 2 hours in race contracts but more entertainment for fans on track can't be a bad thing now can it?

Kimi has completed every single lap this year with only Chinese GP being pointless to him. Vettel and Alonso both have retired and got their average lowered.

But yes, Kimi has been amazing this year, reliable and fast enough to fight for podiums.

The reason for it is if there is a bad crash in a support race then 2 hours should in theory be enough to get everything sorted for the F1 race which afterall is the draw card event for the weekend

Morning Warm-Up also means parc ferme rules have to go, and then costs go up. F1 races also have an abnormally long setup time. The pit lane opens a good 30 minutes before the race.

If you're at a race and can't cope with 2 hours of not much to do, then you'd hate going to races like Le Mans where you have entire days of nothing to do before sessions.

I remember reading recently that as there were crap support races at Singapore in 2008, Bernie bought about 15 Fiat 500s but forgot to hire any drivers and ended up sending some journalists in the cars
