Don't have a clue about DRS straight(s).

Highlight of the 2011 race...

There will be 2 separate DRS zones - one on the pit straight, the other on the very long straight.

I saw the track map and I was completely astray. All I could remember were turns 5 to 12 from last year race. That was quite a boring race. This year can't be much worse.

That has to be among the most fucked track layouts I've ever seen. Didn't watch last year, kinda doubting watching this year too.

I think the choice of country and scenery are terrible, and of course I hate the run offs. But I do quite like this layout. It's really quite fast, and turns 5 through to 9 take a lot of commitment and bravery.

More than a close championship? :(

This may sound like a fanboy comment, but I'm less interested in the championship race since Hamilton is virtually out of contention. Alonso vs Vettel just sounds too classic. Hoping for some good races though.

One of the most well received Tilke tracks by the drivers. They loved to drive there. Specially the sequence of turns after the long straigth, tha ends in a "tricky to find the apex" long right hand turn. After that, the second to last corner starts in uphill and ends in downhill, with very high variation.

It may have presented a boring race last year. But it seems fun to drive. And there's potential for great overtaking battles, if not for the lead, for the rest of the field at least.

Of course not. But I can't deny that I do enjoy the amount of bitching and crying there is when Vettel wins, especially when he has a finger. *tears*

In 2010 we were all sure Fernando was winning it, and Vettel had no chance going into the final race.
In 2009 Jenson started off the season with a massive lead, only to see it disappear and never win a race after round 7.
In 2008 Lewis won the championship on the final corner of the final lap of the final race, whilst Massas crew celebrated.
in 2007 Kimi went into the final race with no real chance against the McLarens and beat them by 1 point

In 2012, we're declaring the championship over with 4 races to go. Why did we get rid of that rolleyes smiley again?

I drove past the circuit last month and on the contrary the scenery around the circuit is actually quite green and clean for India. And the 8 lane highway (Yamuna Expressway) leading up to the circuit is probably one of the most advanced highways in the country. Again, for Indian standards, the area surrounding the circuit is fantastic.

Yeah, it's green for India, doesn't make it exciting. ;) Scenery wise, it's like Magny Cours. When you get a shot surrounding it with it, it's just meh.

The choice of country is what is most worrying, because like Turkey, India isn't know for its huge motorsport presence. The only reason Bahrain and co are still on the calendar is there is a massive amount of money there. Will India be willing to stump that up when the prices rise? Turkey didn't. It'd be a shame to lose a nice track (by modern standards).
