At present, Indy through Iowa is packed, but then the schedule disappears into nothingness.

Pocono will likely have to be in September, which would make for a nice spate of ovals if they can get Auto Club and Kentucky back.

I heard that many oval tracks would like to have IndyCars but the sanction fee ( $2M ) is way to high for them with current ROI and TV deal.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I really hope Allmendinger drives Penske's third car. He was already an excellent open wheel road racer and will have picked up a ton of oval racecraft during his time in NASCAR.

Newgarden probably is a star of the future but he definitely needs more experience before he should get a seat at somewhere like Penske.

Put Dinger in Briscoes car now, then Newgarden slots in when Helio retires.

Interesting post on Trackforum
Quote:
Dave Furst ‏@DaveFurst #IndyCar @ACSupdates leftovers: attendance-34k; KVRacing entertains HVM merger; Rubens needs $ for move to Honda/Schmidt; dry heat is a myth

34k for event after a 7 year break is pretty good start. I think that with great race like we had they should be able to get more people in the stands for next year.

KVR and HVM merger would be interesting. After this season it would be good to see Simona in a better car.

I don't think it was the car that was Simona's biggest challenge this season. With a competant motor she would do much better.

Yeaa, she's shown what she can do with an old and heavy car. This year she just couldn't do anything more with the shitty Lotus engine.

I'm going to Indy :D

Flights- £481
Hotel- £0 (Someone I know is sorting that out)
Tickets- £0 (Some I know works high up in an IndyCar Team)

There's some things money can't buy, for everything else, there's IndyCar :P

Pocono would happen between the two Cup dates. That's what I read a few days ago.

AJ reinstated.

http://www.nascar.com/news/120918/nasca ... index.html

Could this pave his way to the third seat at Penske (I sure hope so)?

AJ's "issues" with NASCAR had no relevance to anything Indycar related, he could have raced at Fontana if someone would have given him a seat.

NASCAR doesn't sanction Indycar races, the only relevance this has is it opens the door to AJ going back to NASCAR and perhaps not ending up in AJ Foyt's or Briscoe's car next year after all.

I know, but a clean name always helps for his image. Sponsors normally don't want to be associated with drivers that have a doubtful past.

IndyCar made it clear they were not going to allow AJ to race in IndyCar until he successfully completed Nascar Road to Recovery program.

Wait, seriously? Three races at Pocono within 6 or 8 weeks? That's suicide. :(

Yeah, that's what I thought. It wouldn't help attracting the NASCAR fans that go to the races. I don't know about the weather in that place that would make it difficult to be held at any other date.
