I think DC said that in an interview with F1 Racing that had Schumacher present too. I think it was in 2009, he admitted making a mistake.

Post Spa-2010, Horner said that Button braked early and it caught Seb out, but Vettel admitted he made a mistake. Remember that on that lap, the rain was starting to fall lightly again and Button had a damaged front wing anyway. He was probably mindful of the clusterfuck on Lap 1 when everyone went wide. Vettel didn't anticipate this and went for the inside line (never gonna happen), swung left too much and lost control.

During F1 it isn't, to be honest.

I thought it was pretty good. Sure you can see more of the circuit at Silverstone or Croft from one spot (the only other circuits I have been to ) but they are flat and spa isn't. The screens are well placed and there are plenty of good viewing spots. I would go back in an instant if I could.

Seems Maldonado's engineer (Xevi Pujolar) was incorrect in his earlier tweet as the DRS zone has been shortened by 50m.

Not sure that will be enough to stop it been too easy, Hope it will though as many of the DRS-generated passes last year were way too easy.

Lewis Hamilton might disagree with you on that.

I don't understand this 'too easy to pass' stuff. Last year most cars which overtook on the straight were genuinely just a lot faster than the one ahead. The DRS helped, yes, but there were still plenty of passes which were not too easy. And had there been no passing it would have been: "yeah, another procession, boring, etc". Live with it. DRS is part of F1.

Does anyone know the cost of a bronze ticket on friday when buying it at the track itself? I know only since yesterday that I'm free to go. Or do websites just distribute tickets you can print at home with a barcode? (and which site do people use here to purchase the tickets?)

at this stage it's better to just go. Honestly I cannot remember the price for a one-day ticket though.

I think I saw prices for bronze on Friday to be €30.
It will rain on Friday though

We can safely say that at some point during the three days, there will be weather of some sort.

The predict a dry day on friday with a chance of local showers in the Ardennes, so it doesn't look that bad.

Has anyone any burgeoning questions they'd like to ask to one of Button, Schumacher, Pic, Petrov, Vergne or De La Rosa? Someone representing F1Zone should be in the PC tomorrow so I'll try and get her to ask it.

Stef brought an interesting point. Imho, DRS should be a temporary tool to improve racing by slightly artificially "forcing" passing oportunities. Sometimes they have given too many lengh, for a specific track characteristic, and it totally destroyed the racing, ie, doing exactly the contrary of it's original intent.

I think they should have gone a bit further as well, like 100 or 150m of shortening.

On current form, that must be the most uninspiring press conference ever.

Two cars changing spots isn't terribly exciting. When it's too easy to pass on a long straightaway thanks to too much DRS advantage, there's no real drama involved in the overtaking move. The faster car just drives around the slower one on the straight or early in the braking zone, and that's it. There's no real concern of "is he close enough to make this stick" or "does he have the guts to drive it that deep into the corner?" There's no battling, just overtaking, and I would MUCH rather see a battle than a pass, if that makes sense.

All DRS has to do is create more opportunities to have these battles for overtaking, not the tool to make the actual overtaking manoeuvre.

I think a problem with DRS here (And on other tracks where DRS passing was way too easy) is that they have put it on the part of the circuit which always featured a good level of overtaking.

DRS was supposed to be used to create passing opportunities where overtaking wasn't really possible before, Putting it where we always had overtaking does nothing but produce the sort of boringly easy passes which many fans complain about.

I believe there are some ciruits that don't need DRS because we get overtaking on them without it & Spa is one of them. However if there going to have a DRS zone at Spa I think the entire length of the start/finish straght would be a better place to put it, Thats the sort of place where DRS may create opportunities without it been too easy.

Biggest DRS issue I see is it's complete inconsistent. It depends on so many factors that sometimes DRS is far too effective and sometimes it achieves nothing at all. How they can tackle that I don't know, but that seems like it's biggest issue to me.
