NASCAR is in my back yard, quite literally this week in Thunder Valley!

Modiefieds and Trucks are Wednesday night with SPEED showing live coverage beginning at 6 p.m. eastern.

The only question we all want to know the answer to is:

Has the changes to the track brought back "Racin' the way it oughta' be?" or has it sent it further along to us begging for ESPN Classic to show old Bristol racin'?

Discussion of this week's races begins NOW!

(edit: ARCA is at Madison this weekend also)

Nationwide entry list
Cup entry list

This is going to be an interesting week. Hopefully the old Bristol is back. I think we'll have a better idea after the truck race.

Ryan Blaney, Nelson Piquet Jr., Brian Scott and Jon Wes Townley are among the drivers entered in both the Nationwide and Truck series events. Blaney is driving the #19 truck for Brad Keselowski and the #36 car for Tommy Baldwin Racing. Brian Scott is in Kyle Busch's #18 truck.

Justin Allgaier's father, Mike is fielding a truck for Grant Enfinger this week. I think Enfinger finished something like 12th at Martinsville last fall driving for Mike Allgaier.

I don't think the changes will make much difference but we'll find out.

One thought I have of this race going is it still being a single groove track, but with the COT, instead of cars spinning when you touch them in the back, they'll just slam into each other and it'll be a train of cars ramming each other on the inside line. Would still be pretty cool to watch.

Under the track configuration of the past couple of years, definitely. If it is truly one groove now, it will be pure chaos.

Sweet. Looks like I know what we'll be watching in the office tomorrow night.

Does anybody know if there'll be a stream for the Mod/Truck race tomorrow night? Don't have any TV where I'm living now and would love to see this one. :)

This just in from Jenna Fryar on Twitter:

6 markets will be showing NFL Preseason games on Saturday night instead of the Bristol Cup race. LMAO.

Didn't that happen last year too?

And checking the506.com, these should be the stations pre-empting the Cup race:
-WRIC 8 (ABC; Richmond, VA)
-WKBW 7 (ABC; Buffalo, NY)
-WHAM 13 (ABC; Rochester, NY)
-WXYZ 7 (ABC; Detroit, MI)
-KTUL 8 (ABC; Tulsa, OK)
-KRGV 5 (ABC; Harlingen, TX)

So, a preseason game of America's biggest sport >>> A race of the second biggest sport at one of their best tracks in history just a few races away from their playoffs.

LOL

Yup, that's my one. Showing a meaningless game in which the hopeless Bills will get their arses handed to them as usual instead of one of the 7 or 8 Sprint Cup races each year worth watching live. Bah. #selfpity

They haven't exactly "put it back the way it was", they've just removed the lowest lane of variable banking, right?

The top lane is now the same banking as the middle lane.

They should have moved the safer walls a bit as well to narrow up the corner exits a lot more.

Oh well, let's see what we've got.

About the channels broadcast, most of the time here on Brazil, of 10 sport channels, 6 are broadcasting soccer, 2 talk-shows about soccer and the other one a "Sport"news program that 90% or more is also just soccer.

We had Speed Channel, now it's Fox Sports and they don't show NCWTS and NNS live anymore to show sub-17 of South America's Libertadores soccer match. Or a Videotape of an english match.

And btw, they won't show it live today.

Please, anyone has a good quality stream link?
