Didn't think that earlier, but this will be Lewis Hamilton's 100th GP.

FOM apparently have a treat in store for us this weekend, No hint as to what it may be.

I'm also tired about the DRS whining in thread after thread.

I feel F1 is so competitive this year because KERS, DRS, and Pirelli have combined to provide the action, making different cars quicker at different times, which is exactly what you need for great racing.

When it comes to the credit for the great racing we're seeing, Pirelli seems to take all of the praise and DRS is targeted for all the criticism.

KERS seems to be getting off scot free atm. Good, because it took its fair share of flak in 2009 and I'm glad its there to give the defending driver a weapon, etc.

If DRS is the magic free pass that everyone thinks, how come Hamilton (on older tyres) was able to drag past Alonso on the Wellington straight, after Alonso had already used his superior grip to get by the Mclaren before the DRS activation point?
Opening the wing didn't stop Lewis from getting past then...

As I've said many times, I'd rather defend DRS (and KERS, and Pirelli) than boring racing, and ALL THREE elements are why we have the great racing we're seeing this year.
All of this is 100 times better than the refuelling, pit stop parades we were "enjoying" in the last decade, so can we please just slightly ease down on DRS bitching...a bit, please?

Yet it's ok to fill IndyCar threads with the same complaints every week. You can't have it both ways.

I understand you. Some years ago, races were just about how faster can you go, positions earned only in pitstop strategy and almost no overtakes at all. Now the driver has many things to think about, the tyre wear, the DRS, the KERS, there is no more refuelling, it made the races so much better even in tracks we could never imagine, like Valencia. We are not in the 80's anymore, back there we had fantastic races, with fantastic drivers without the need of DRS or KERS, but we had many difference when it came to the engines and the cars would fail so much more, it was a different F1 that no longer exists, unfortunatelly. So after all, I'm very happy with what we have right now, its so much better than the last 10 years (at least) were.

Lewis used the draft and probably alot of Kers to get Alonso there and skill. The problem with drs is it just looks too easy sometimes, i think its getting better and the races have been good but Webber passing Alonso there was pretty easy, maybe use drs on a shorter straight or a smaller slot in the wing.
