When I first started watching NASCAR I remember hearing one of the commentators say that they were told that when a car starts to spin on you, lock the wheel to the left and have your accident.
The first rule on ovals is never turn right, etc.

Yet with accidents like Cale Gale there, he was chasing it left, right, left, right until it finally snapped on him....are these kids not taught that any more? :?

This race has been surprisingly entertaining. Way better than I anticipated from a cookie cutter track. I love watching the trucks bounce and slide up the track over the bumps.

Lots of great racing on that last run.

Really good race though, IMO.

The cowboy hat is the worst form of cranial fashion mankind has to offer.

Cup practice (11:30AM EST Friday):
#42-Montoya apparently blew an engine, and either #2-Keselowski blew a front tire or was clipped by Montoya as he pulled to the apron in T3, and Keselowski hit the wall.

#9-Ambrose snow-plows the frontstrech grass.

Anybody else watching Cup qualifying? After Montoya's run, Speed was showing tents and such in the infield that had gotten blown away and destroyed by a sudden wind storm that rolled across the track. No cars are on track because there is a ridiculous amount of debris all over the track.

I read on twitter that the grandstands have been evacuated because of high winds. Qualifying is on hold because the wind has blown debris onto the track. There is rain in the area, I believe.

Here is a picture of one of the tents in the infield that was posted on twitter.
