If not a 500 miler, they should just round up the distance to 400 miles.

I guess "The Firestone 400" doesn't sound as cool as the Firestone 550k though.

At least Fontana will be 400 miles though...but that race really should be 500 miles.

They're not doing the twin race idea? Damn, I kind of liked it.

The twin race was novel but the second part was a real borefest last year.

Yeaa, first race they wanted to save their cars and not crash so they could do the second race. Unfortunately it just didn't improve.

Wonderful series, sounds marvellous, but are there any grown ups in it?

I liked the twin-heats last year too... having said that the Texas event has always been a goody be it one race or two

Hopefully we don't see any pack racing here.

Why they're simply not using the aero package they ran at Indy is beyond me. The cars would spread out some yet have the ability to pull up in the draft and pass. Seems like a good recipe for this place.

I think there's still some mentality that Indy has to be the exclusive, fastest etc. I seem to remember back in the George era he basically said the cars were not allowed to go faster than they did at Indy at other tracks, so they pile on the downforce/drag to slow them down at places like Texas.

I don't think they would pull 220 mph laps at Texas with the same package though.

Hang on, so what aero package is being used then?
