It's not ridiculous; it might - after 20 years - actually stop him from crashing into people.

Maldonado saying he didn't mean to hit Perez, He says he had some oversteer & was trying to correct the car when it suddenly gripped & drove him into Perez

If he hasn't stopped after twenty years, he never will.

Agreed! But I'll be honest, I'm sad with this penalty, but its ok, after all Schumacher had the fastest time, its just amazing, nice to see him fighting back!

Pole position is *officially* awarded when the starting grid is published by the FIA on Sunday morning.

Schumacher took his left hand off the wheel to adjust the brake balance right in the middle of the 1st part of the swimming pool.

And your point is?

Schumi should be on pole and it's sad he isn't as it would have been amazing to see him start at the front tomorrow. But for his shoddy driving in Barcelona...

Schumacher on pole would be a great story, and it's still great to see him do the lap time ... but he deserved the penalty, and where he qualified before it's applied doesn't change that. Long race tomorrow, and I still think there's plenty of drivers in it ... and he's one of them.

My point is that Schumacher has never been averse to hitting people. Since his comeback, he's made so many silly errors that have a big effect on his race. This time though a mistake has come back to bite him hard.

Odds on Webber leading into turn one tomorrow? That or a sweepstake on how many positions he'll lose off the grid ... (I like Mark a lot as a person, but his starts have been rubbish for literally "some" time ...)

I was thinking that too. Pole man bogging down isn't what you need at Monaco with the tight, curved run to Sainte Devote, where it all narrows down ...

Mark Webber will be doing good to be in the top 5 after turn 1.
