I'm afraid the average time that takes director to show the reason for yellows will be around 40 seconds this weekend. And if there's red flag you think there are a couple of cars in the harbor until the actual reason is shown

Are you referring to the camera that was positioned up at the palace and panned across the latter half of the circuit?

Seen at about 15 seconds into this video...

I'm wondering if this new building will ruin the speciality of the tunnel exit, I mean they drive "blindly" for a while because of the sun. Do you think the contrast will be the same?

It's an absolute crime that FOM don't direct this race. What benefit is there to letting the host broadcaster do it? There's none that I can think of.

The rights situation is different at Monaco. It's an ACO event, they are basically in control of everything there.

Thanks for the explanation. Still a shame they don't get a team that's reasonably competent to do it, or even just let FOM assist them.

But why would they prefer inferior coverage of their event instead of a good produced tv package? It makes no sense. They rather show retired drivers sitting in their pitbox filmed with a telelens from a kilometer distance (remember Alonso when he couldn't compete in qualifying) than show cars on track.

As organiser of a race I would make sure it was shown in the most spectacular way possible on TV. With lots of camera's beside the track and in spectacular positions.

Yeh one would want to show their country the best way possible to attract tourists. The same way we get many aerial shots during the Canadian GP weekend :)

Lame.

Just let them go for it. If they don't think the car will stick, don't use it.

agreed. I'm afraid the same stupid decision will be implemented for Spa's eau rouge corner.

Romain Grosjean new helmet for Monaco GP

I prefer his original helmet, but this one looks nice too, only the gold ruined it, it could be blue, it would be beautiful and more french too.

PS: About the DRS and the tunnel, that was something we could expect, after last year crashes they would never change their position about it.

I'm actually pretty scared of Monaco with these tyres....

what's the record for the amount of SC's in a race? 4? 5?
Must be a Canada race I guess.....

I wonder if we will set a new record this weekend?

Canada last year broke the record with 5 appearances.
The most SC's we had during a Monaco Grand Prix was in 2010 with 4.

There was also five in Brazil 2003 if you count the one for Webber crash just before the red flag.

Yeah but if you count the race restart after the red flag period at Canada last year you will even have 6 SC's.

Could be a good bonus question for the TBK Pick-Ems competition.
