A brazilian site is reporting that Mika Salo told in an interview that Bottas might replace Senna at Williams still in 2012, any news about that guys? That's really not the kind of stuff you wanna hear before you go to a place like Monaco, Bruno will have a lot of work now, the pressure over his shoulders after Maldonado win will be huge.

There is a report on Crash.net saying Senna is under pressure, but it refers to no reliable sources and mentions the link between Bottas and Williams is really from 2013 onwards. The article also refers to Senna's qualifying performances as the problem, ignoring his two points scoring finishes. Pure bull crap at this stage.

Yeah, that's exactly my fear about brazilian sites, they are not to reliable, to be honest the brazilian press is really complicated, the ammount of rumors that appears is unbeliveable. And I really don't think its the case right now, Senna has done some good races, his results at Malaysia and China, and the way he came passing everybody at Malaysia after the bad start, was fantastic! Of course he needs to improve his qualifying pace, but we have to be patient with him, he has to let Bottas drive in all non-street circuits, he started his career very lately, his first year in F1 was in a very weak Hispania and last year he had only a few races in Lotus, he lacks the driving time, I believe he will improve a lot during this year, but the biggest problem is that many people still want to compare him to Ayrton, and that's too unfair to Bruno and puts over himself some expectations he can never fulfill.

As the first 7 teams are nearly equal (maybe the difference between them is just 0,3-0,8 seconds a lap)
the drivers and the track will make the difference.
I remember that Kimi and Alonso were good at Monaco. Maldonado of course as well, he had a great drive in last year's race.
Another fact is that most of the races since 2004 have been won from the pole.
McLaren was good at this track in the past years. I won't count RB as they had the best car for 2010 and 2011.
So I think the win is going to be decided between Maldonado, McLaren, Kimi and Alonso.

But we can't guess anything... But imagine a 6th winner from another different car (Lotus likely)... wouldn't that be great? So, go Kimi!!

Rain? :flag:

Actually the race will be in May 27th weekend, not May 20th. But hey, some rain would be nice, 1997 was a great race!

Last years race was good too, looked like it would compete with the Senna v Mansell end, but with 3 champions instead. It was just unfortunate with the red flag.

Mika Salo has constantly been joking with Bottas in Finnish TV by asking him "isn't it right you'll drive in a race this year?" "I heard Williams has made a contract with you as a race driver?" and such, so do not take Salo and his stories seriously.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone took sarcasm as a serious story and caused hard because of that. Very few guys here manage to look professionals.

Yeah I imagined something like that, our press is terrible, they do anything to look like they found some breaking news, and its usually false, or not entirely true.

As I did that in the last race and it seems you guys liked it, here it is again, the championship standings as it would be if we were in the old 10-6-4-3-2-1 system...

Drivers Standings

01 - Sebastian VETTEL - 19 Pts
02 - Fernando ALONSO - 18 Pts
03 - Jenson BUTTON - 16 Pts
04 - Nico ROSBERG - 12 Pts
05 - Kimi RAIKKONEN - 12 Pts
06 - Lewis HAMILTON - 12 Pts
07 - Mark WEBBER - 12 Pts
08 - Pastor MALDONADO - 10 Pts
09 - Romain GROSJEAN - 08 Pts
10 - Sergio PEREZ - 06 Pts
11 - Kamui KOBAYASHI - 03 Pts
12 - Bruno SENNA - 01 Pt
13 - Paul DI RESTA - 01 Pt

Constructors Standings

01 - Red Bull - 31 Pts
02 - McLaren - 28 Pts
03 - Lotus - 20 Pts
04 - Ferrari - 18 Pts
05 - Mercedes - 12 Pts
06 - Williams - 11 Pts
07 - Sauber - 09 Pts
08 - Force India - 01 Pt

With this old system, the difference from the 1st to the 8th would be only 9 points!

Amazing, after 2 races nobody above 20 points (with the old counting), that's kind of special.

Hope Senna gets a full season. It's only really his first full season in a proper car. Hes in a new team against Pastor who is really at home there now so it's not easy for him. I think hes done pretty well so far. He will only get better as well. The Williams boys will be strong at Monaco.

Or in the race. Bruno Senna is another one who needs to get his act together or he might be replaced.

I don't get this Senna might be replaced business. I really don't. This is his first proper chance and he had a thoroughly shit weekend in Spain (albeit compounded by the fact he was hit by Granddad Schumacher) while his team mate played a blinder. Okay, properly crap weekend. But he did better than Pastor in Malaysia and China, while the team was nowhere in Bahrain. His qualifying speed needs upping, but he's still learning.

If it's still like this come Brazil then fine. Williams's financial situation won't be quite as in the shitter, so they can afford to put BOTTAS in the car for 2013. But 5 races in to 2012? Please, give it a rest. There's a modern obsession about driver changes as soon as someone has a terrible weekend.

Felipe's situation is different because he's been gradually getting worse since his comeback.

Well said.

People should cut the crap.

There is no actual "Senna getting replaced" stuff. It is simply tabloid trash not worthy of discussion.
