So this years World Series by Renault 3.5 championship looks to be the one to watch out of the junior formula's this year, couple that with a brand new car which has been 4 seconds faster in winter testing than last years car and you have yourselfs a recipe for top notch racing. The cars apparently have very similar if not the same cornering abilities as a F1 car, they just lack the straight line speed and of course this year we have the introduction of DRS into the series, so I think it'll be hotly tipped that whoever comes out on top this year will be highly sought after by F1 teams, but with the sheer talent in the series we could easily see 3-4 of these drivers make it into F1 in the coming years.

Race 2 not live on British Eurosport :(

Eurosport 1 showing Auto GP from Hungary instead....

Willing to bet which will be the better race? *Sigh*

(Also found out as a result WTCC is live this weekend, why are both WTCC and DTM going back to back?) :?

Because F1 is next weekend and they don't want to clash with it.

aside of Eurosport Player, is there something that shows Formula Renault 2.0 live? Quality or language doesn't matter, anything is better than live timing!

Quote:
Arthur Pic gave DAMS pole position for its Formula Renault 3.5 debut as he came out on top of the first qualifying session of the weekend at Aragon.

The Frenchman, who topped both free practice sessions on Friday, briefly led the way in the early stages of qualifying before Richie Stanaway grabbed top spot just 11 minutes in.

The Kiwi then boosted his chances of hanging on to pole by improving his time with only four minutes to go, before Pic snatched it away just two minutes later.

Stanaway, who had already been bumped back a place by Kevin Korjus, had to settle for fourth in the end. Shortly after Pic crossed the line to take pole, Nick Yelloly completed an impressive lap to grab second.

Korjus was one of several drivers to get caught up in traffic in the final couple of minutes, as many drivers slowed before the final hairpin to try to find space. Not only was the Estonian baulked by cars ahead of him, but he was almost hit by pre-season testing star Robin Frijns, who struggled with an engine mapping issue but still managed to improve on his final lap to seal 12th.

The third row of the grid appeared set to be an all-GP2 converts affair with Jules Bianchi fifth and Sam Bird sixth as the flag dropped, but late improvements from Jake Rosenzweig, Carlos Huertas and Nico Muller split the pair, pushing Bird back to ninth.

It's raining heavily at the track.

The FR2.0 race has been stopped because of rain and after the big crash of Villemi.
