Yeah as I mentioned earlier, I actually liked this finish over the other two this weekend. I was fully expecting Kyle Busch to slingshot around Brad coming into the tri-oval, but the fact that Brad shook him off and took control of his own fate, that made it entirely unexpected for me. It should be interesting to see how that move is used in future superspeedway races. The 2nd place car can try to anticipate the move, the 1st place car can try to be more unpredictable with it, and it gives a bit of extra hope for those further back that they can catch up in time. Also the 1st place car would have to decide if they are far enough ahead to break up the tandem or not.

I'm just glad 1st place isn't as much of a sitting duck as I thought they were.

A new style of insincere interviews could go down a treat during this most boring of seasons.

"Danica is a REALLY GREAT DRIVER! She totally got to the Sprint Cup on MERIT....wow the hands off the wheel trick, an AMAZING DEAL that has REVOLUTIONISED stock car racing forever"

"I LOVE FONTANA, I think EVERY RACE should be like this....such a great TREAT for all NASCAR fans...."

That style already exists. It's called "Darrell Waltrip Mode".

The fact that he didn't show signs of sarcasm (even tho he clearly is) makes this even more awesome.

Just finished watching the race (got lucky that no one spoiled it at the track for me. Kyle Larson won. Kid is going to be BIG in a couple years) I was fine with the way it ended. It cant be a photo finish every time. Was pissed when Blaney and James Finch's car wrecked.

Alot on here wanted pack racing back and we had it all day long.

If Keselowski really did swerve to intentionally break that two car tandem with Kyle at the end, that was brilliant; actually unexpected. Thought it would be the typical two cars break out then the second slingshots at the end. Awesome to see Keslowski win, even if not in the most exciting fashion.

Second plate race in a row that Jr. has gotten behind a car and pushed the hell out of him and they just refused to pull out and make a move. Kvapil and he would have made it damn near to the front if he had pulled out when they got the run they did.

No-one bothered to help Ambrose at the end, he was in 5th and the white 34 car could have helped but didn't.

Here's the audio from Stewart and his greatest use of sarcasm yet.

Just watched the race and although I was rooting for Kyle at the end, I loved the move from Kes' to shake him off his bumper. At last something other than "leader is a sitting duck" we've had a few times here.

Overall, it did feel like they were kind of riding along, trying to save their engines most of the race, which was a bit frustrating.

I'd give it an 8/10

Of which there are hardly any left in the Cup series.

My favorite part of the race was when they went to commercial.

My favourite part of the commercials were when they occasionally showed a part of the race

Race wasn't too bad. I'd be more pissed about Gordon running into more bad luck, but it's actually starting to be comical at this point. Unless he gets a few more wins, this season will pretty much be a write-off anyway. No biggie, really.

Also, if Brad's "shake off" move to break the two-car tandem is really what did the trick, then it was GENIUS, and actually changes the restrictor plate game altogether. How?

Drivers aren't going to get their panties in a bunch over finding someone to push only to dump them, because it's not always guaranteed to work now that Brad's found a way around it. They'll know that that's a new strategy to use, so I'm kinda thinking that instead of seeing everyone break into two car tandems at the end like we've been seeing, we'll have guys all over the f'n place.

Get those grills opened up too, as there was just way too much overheating going on yesterday.
