Thoughts with everyone caught in the pit fire. Sad way to end such a happy day for the team. Was it a KERS unit that caused the fuel to go up?

After today’s Spanish Grand Prix a fire occurred in the team’s garage which originated from the fuel area.

Four team personnel were injured in the incident and subsequently taken to the medical centre. Three are now receiving treatment at local hospitals for their injuries, while the fourth has been released. The team will monitor their condition and ensure they receive the best possible care.

The team, the fire services and the police are working together to determine the root cause of the fire and an update statement will be released in due course.

The Williams F1 Team would like to thank all of the teams and the FIA for their support in today’s incident.

So far we had 9 podium finishers this year.
In 2011 we had 7 (because of Petrov and Heidfeld) and in total 7.

Aren't some of the Sky Cameramen/Bods ex-Royal Marines? Probably been in worse situations than that and know how to keep a cool head.

that's absolutely unreal...no doubt this weekend will illustrate interesting pages on F1 history book. Maldonaldo winning for the first time and in the same day, saving lives!

Glad to hear that no one got killed in all that. That was insane.

Also, I never got penalizing drivers for mistakes. Doesn't that process just encourage more timid driving and less risk taking? It seems absurd to me to penalize drivers for pushing, and making that occasional mistake.

What can I say? There is no words enough! Race race was simply fantastic! Maldonado has done a superb job, he hold Alonso at the end, saving his tyres, while Alonso wasted its tyres, Maldonado drove like he was like 10 years in F1, I never could expect such skills from him, he was allways fast, but allways making so many mistakes, this time he was perfect. Williams winning again is just wonderful. In 2011 it looked like Williams were walking to a no return abysm. Now Maldonado wins the Spanish GP. It's 5 races, and 5 different teams winning, what a fantastic season after the boring 2011 with the RBR domination. It's totally unpredictable. We never know who will be fast in the very next race. Vettel dominated Bahrain and had a bad weekend in Spain, Rosberg had a great win in China and after that Mercedes lost itself, McLaren has a fantastic qualifying pace, but in the race its not so well. Monaco will be great, Maldonado will be strong again, Ferrari will be in a track that suits the car, no long straights, super soft tyres, let's see what Lotus, RBR, Mercedes and McLaren can bring us there too, a Lotus win would be perfect there. And let's not forget Kamui Kobayashi, what a great race, beautiful overtaking moves. Can't wait to see him in Monte Carlo streets again.

Ok I know people were injured and hope everyone is fine.....but my thoughts when I first saw the headline flash up was damn those Williams boys are literally taking the message of 'lets tear this place apart!!'

Can't believe how many idiot rubberneckers and photographers were getting in the way of the firefighting/rescue effort.

the incident reminded me of the Montoya/Albers(?) situation, where Montoya was leading the race, and when lapping Albers(?) Albers misjudged his braking point and slammed into Montoya. I thought Albers(?) got away with it.
