Canada did have supersoft and soft last year, not sure what they're going with this year yet. Should be interesting at Monaco. I think given that the temperature will be much cooler than it was at Bahrain, it might be the equivalent of how softs and mediums performed at Bahrain.

McLaren
It was very late on Thursday night last week - so late, in fact, that many of the press-corps had already departed the scene - at Mugello that the MP4-27 first appeared out on track with a radically-different nose design. Although not quite as abrupt as the 'boxer's nose' concept that the rest of the field, with the exception of Marussia, have been running this season, the new looks feature a far higher front profile with a raised tip and a noticeably less pronounced curve.

Martin Whitmarsh has subsequently confirmed that the team plan on running the new design in practice on Friday and, if approved by Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, absent in Italy last week, it will remain on the car for Sunday.

Ferrari
The team almost all eyes on will be on this Friday. The impression, endorsed by Fernando Alonso, that the upgrades introduced at Mugello last week - featuring repackaged bodywork and new exhaust outlets -

were small rather than substantial has only ratcheted up focus on the F2012 this week. The car wheeled out for practice on Friday is expected to be strikingly different from the version seen so far this season, with rumours rife that Ferrari are intent on copying the rear of the Sauber and turning the F2012 into a 'Ferrauber' (a difficult-to-pronounce assimiliation of the Ferrari and Sauber).

Now that the European season is upon us, we should be able to bring through more updates to the car. That will start this weekend when we run with some of the new parts we evaluated in Mugello last week. However, we have to remember that most teams will make a development step for Barcelona so it remains to be seen how this will impact on our relative performance
