Canada did have supersoft and soft last year, not sure what they're going with this year yet. Should be interesting at Monaco. I think given that the temperature will be much cooler than it was at Bahrain, it might be the equivalent of how softs and mediums performed at Bahrain.

I recently had a look at the tires used so far and I was wondering the same. Where are the super soft. But to be honest, from what I've seen so far, I actually don't want to see them because I fear that they won't last long.

Actually I would like to see how the teams would deal if they had for the weekend, Super Soft and Soft tyres, would be fun to watch, the strategies would be very interesting... I remember two years ago, thanks to the huge tyre wear we had one of the greatest races ever in Montreal, so tyre wear is not allways bad, sometimes it can add very spicy touch for a race.

Actually, Canada 2010 was the ground Bernie had used for tires with more degradation, exactly the ones we watch now.

Exactly! And its great, this season has been great in the first four races, hope it will remain as good as that for the rest of the year

Last year due to the rain, we couldn't see how the cars would behave with the tyres during all the race and how they would manage the strategy. In Monaco its going to be interesting. I think every street track should have the super softs and the softs.

Oh yeah, that chicane is just painfull, and it never helped the overtakes at all, they just made worse a circuit that is already bad.

The circuit is great. It always has been. Its just that F1 doesn't suit it.

More than F1 as a whole itself, I think the constant testing is what makes races so boring and predictable.

With the first four rounds done, 1/5 of the championship here's how the season would look if we were in the old 10-6-4-3-2-1 system...

Drivers Championship

01 - Sebastian VETTEL - 18 Pts
02 - Jenson BUTTON - 16 Pts
03 - Fernando ALONSO - 12 Pts
04 - Nico ROSBERG - 12 Pts
05 - Lewis HAMILTON - 12 Pts
06 - Mark WEBBER - 12 Pts
07 - Kimi RAIKKONEN - 08 Pts
08 - Sergio PEREZ - 06 Pts
09 - Romain GROSJEAN - 05 Pts
10 - Kamui KOBAYASHI - 01 Pt
11 - Bruno SENNA - 01 Pt
12 - Paul DI RESTA - 01 Pt

Constructors Championship

01 - Red Bull-Renault - 30 Pts
02 - McLaren-Mercedes - 28 Pts
03 - Lotus-Renault - 13 Pts
04 - Ferrari - 12 Pts
05 - Mercedes - 12 Pts
06 - Sauber-Ferrari - 07 Pts
07 - Williams-Renault - 01 Pt
08 - Force India-Mercedes - 01 Pt

The championship would go to the european phase with 4 drivers with 12 pts, Button and Vettel a little ahead, would look very nice. This is my favourite points system, and I'll keep track of how the championship would be in this system, I hope you like it guys.

1983 is about the only season using the above system, I can see so far where the leader after 4 races has such a low total. Prost would have had 16 points.

No rain for the race weekend. Not many races at Barcelona have been wet...anyone know which ones were?

In 1991 there was some rain too, not too much, 1992 was very wet, then after that only 1996 had rain, and that was like you said wet enough for a lifetime

I believe the last chicane was made for one reason: more overtaking. The last years proved that it doesn't work. They should get rid of it and run on the old layout. At least that would add 2 ballzy corners. The old track is still there, isn't it?

List of updates teams will have this weekend:
http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/new ... o-look-for

Quote:
McLaren
It was very late on Thursday night last week - so late, in fact, that many of the press-corps had already departed the scene - at Mugello that the MP4-27 first appeared out on track with a radically-different nose design. Although not quite as abrupt as the 'boxer's nose' concept that the rest of the field, with the exception of Marussia, have been running this season, the new looks feature a far higher front profile with a raised tip and a noticeably less pronounced curve.

Martin Whitmarsh has subsequently confirmed that the team plan on running the new design in practice on Friday and, if approved by Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, absent in Italy last week, it will remain on the car for Sunday.

Ferrari
The team almost all eyes on will be on this Friday. The impression, endorsed by Fernando Alonso, that the upgrades introduced at Mugello last week - featuring repackaged bodywork and new exhaust outlets -

were small rather than substantial has only ratcheted up focus on the F2012 this week. The car wheeled out for practice on Friday is expected to be strikingly different from the version seen so far this season, with rumours rife that Ferrari are intent on copying the rear of the Sauber and turning the F2012 into a 'Ferrauber' (a difficult-to-pronounce assimiliation of the Ferrari and Sauber).

Lotus

i asked grosjean and he was far more polite but still said 'a few bits and pieces but i can't say any more than that'

Marussia - new front wing and new rear suspension. Pull-rod rear suspension.

Force India - Front wing changes. Dropping the black bar on the tip of nose. Different pillar shapes. New exhaust system. Much like McLarens.

Now that the European season is upon us, we should be able to bring through more updates to the car. That will start this weekend when we run with some of the new parts we evaluated in Mugello last week. However, we have to remember that most teams will make a development step for Barcelona so it remains to be seen how this will impact on our relative performance

Toro Rosso - McLaren exhaust.

Sauber - exhaust tweaks. New front wing.

Williams - new exhaust. New rear wing.
