Seriously why didn't they opened up the engine rules for at least 1 year? Seems kinda stupid to keep tight rules when you have new manufactures and new engines.

They need to keep the costs as down as possible. Not one manufacturer would be interested if they need to spend millions and millions to be competitive. Not in the series' current state.

Christ, if they'd opened up the engine rules Chevy would be miles in front of Honda and Lotus would be a joke compared to both of them.

Okay, they already are a joke, but even more so.

IIRC it was on Monday morning here. Can't imagine that race happening in a Monday afternoon.

There's risk of light rain for Saturday and Sunday, but weather is extremely unstable. These predictions might change a lot till there, normally this year time it's almost impossible to predict what's going to happen in the next 12 hours. Temperatures are also oscillating from 15ºC to 25ºC. It's been a pleasant autumn so far.

I dont think what happened last year is going to repeat again, they've done a complete work on the drainage system in the entire course so I believe even raining, the water will flow more and race goes on. What happened last year was extremely atypical and the organizers were not prepared for 24 hours of rain like we had last year.

So I'd say there's no way that we'll see Monday racing again, impossible! But If it does, luckily Monday is extended holiday, so the event won't harm local car traffic and people wouldn't get worried about missing work day. This year the whole situation is favorable.

Bumps were all corrected aswell, track is soft and smooth, perfect for open wheel racing.

No, just no! Bumps create an extra challenge for the drivers. Instead of ironing out the bumps, more should be added in.

Nah....for open wheel racing it's better without bumps, it's dangerous. I remember 2010 and that race was scary, cars were hitting bumps at 335km/h (208 miles per hour) in the straight, all mechanic side of the car had to be adjusted in order to endure that...besides it may be dangerous for drivers, imagine shaking all the time for more than 50 laps.

Bumps have been part of racing since it's inception. Only in the past 10'ish years have bumps been eradicated. Constant severe bumps that are dangerous yes should be smoothed out, but polishing off the entire circuit so that's smoother than a billiard table. No. Let's just take away every challenge for the driver and team shall we? Let's just wrap them up in cotton wool, place each driver in a Radio Flyer and gently push them around the circuit then. Jeez.

pffff, back in the good old days, you had an earth bank or single line fence between you and the spectators, "safety" was token at best, you guys (J.Morelli) have absolutely no idea just how "safe" things are nowdays (and were on that bumpy arse track last year) - a few bumps are dangerous? ROFLMAO pass me the sick bucket please...

Well Lewis Hamilton went on Blue Peter at 6 years old piloting a radio controlled car around the BP garden So he's got practice of that idea already.

remember when cars used to make turns? that shit was dangerous. every once in a while someone missed the turn and ran off, causing damage. glad they have fixed that.
