Maybe they should all sleep in the tower in order to avoid travel to Manama.

I'd be soo tempted to hold him to his word.....Too bad it would also risk my workers otherwise I'd stay until 21:00 or later.

Sky Sports News said yesterday that the top "VIP" level of the tower at turn one has heavy lifting equipment on the top of it. So in the most extreme case a military heavy lift helicopter can connect to it and carry it away to safety.

I'de be surprised if there's no attempt to attack the track on either saterday or sunday. I'm not saying they will be able to get past the army and police on to the track, but they'll at least try.
Some people feel like they have nothing to lose and sunday will be a unique moment when millions of people all over the world will be watching an event in Bahrain live.

That's my fear as well...They're willing to die for their cause because it might change things for their kids and grandkids etc.

Sauber personnel were also involved in an incident last night.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Because Brazil isn't in a state of civil war, where innocent protesters were shot whilst protesting peacefully and then the doctors attending them throw in jail for 'conspiring against the monarchy'.

In Brazil it's a police and crime issue. In Bahrain it's a political and humanitarian one.

I don't like the whole "well lets try to look for other places that are as bad to drag them down with us" comparisons tbh, and I'm sure every Brazilian posting here is getting hella sick of it too...

Hell if they brought back the Birmingham Superprix I'd advise the teams to stay out of certain areas and these kinds of prestige events don't just bring out the best in society either, they do bring out the worst too to see what's in it for them.

In much less important news, James Allen read out my question on 5live, asked him if he still wants refuelling back but he seems happy now with the strategy in the sport.

Quite right too :)

I always admire someone who can speak a foreign language so well, but my word Custard is dull.

He used to live just down the road from me in Banbury from what I am told. Just be glad he didn't pick up the horrific local 'faux cockney' accent that seems to have somehow infiltrated the place!

Somewhat confirmed on autosport: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/98982
It's an option but they will run qualifying and the race.

So either they expect major incidents today after the friday prayers or just trying to make a lame statement.
If you don't want to travel after dark don't run on Saturday and Sunday as well. Or be completely be honest and say you expect big trouble today.

maybe they're just concerned cause they actually represent India in a muslim country

In the past hour I've gained huge respect for Force India, and also remembered how horribly crap this circuit is.

Rosberg is looking pretty good again though.

i dont think there will be any problem "on track" during this weekend. Can't be so sure for outside the track. What concern me the most is that what they are basically showing is that to the F1 cyrcus it's ok to have the Barhain police to ensure protection to their race, so basically this means that they agree to let them shot down protesters who may try to disturb the event. How unhuman is that?

what F1 is basically saying to the world is "we're the rich guys who come here to put on their show, make money and please the royal family who is killing innocent people and we're ok to have innocent people shot down in order to be able to put on our show without being annoyed". And after a show like this we all say we cant understand why terrorist are so upset with us.
