Why is the Saudi Arabian flag in the back of the car in the 2nd picture?

I think it is because they sent its soldiers to Bahrain to stop the protesters.

Maybe HRT should withdraw as well, perfect excuse to save some money...

But HRT wouldn't save money as they'd be served with penalties for not showing up at a race.

Another nerdy fact is that we're heading into this race with 6 different winners from the previous 6 races (Vettel, Hamilton, Webber, Button, Alonso, Rosberg).

Who is going to extend that run, Felipe or Micheal?

Hurr hurrr hurr hurr

I'll take 4 different winners from the first 4 races though...

Indeed. The Saudi monarchy supports the Suni reign at Bahrain. They don't usually regard very well more radical governments in that region.

Btw, here is an interview with the chairman of the circuit about the issues involving the GP for CNN.

My opinion on the GP has changed. There was a guardian article earlier saying that John Yates, ex Met Police says they'd use live rounds if needed and I got the impression they are almost expecting a track invasion. Apparently according to someone on twitter that a Force India car was caught up in a 'petrol bomb incident'.
I was all for it when I thought that it was the same in Bahrain as it was before, it might be but F1 is being too heavily targeted.
As much as i'd like to see a race, I hope they just make the right decision if anything else happens before Sunday.

Vettel would make it 6 from 6 again.

Bit late isn't it? Where were they when there was actually time to cancel the GP? Having another holiday?

So not hoping for anything wrong. But Bernie is going to have blood on his hands this weekend.

Strange that there's been nothing on the Fifi petrol bombing incident except from that Marc Priestly.

He says he got the info straght from someone at Force India:

Quote:
To be clear, my information has come directly from Force India F1 personnel. No one was hurt, no damage, but pretty scary.

Also says he'll be doing an interview on Al Jazeera tomorrow.
Quote:
Didn't manage to do my Al Jazeera interview tonight due to tech difficulties. We're going to try again tomorrow.

All that without mentioning the fact that 80% of the public that attends these races are made by Saudi citizens. All these emirates like Bahrain, Qatar, UAE and Kuwait are all countries that serve as rest and entertainment for the Saudi people on weekends. Some even say that these countries are like "whorehouses" for the Saudi elite.

Whatever they wanna to do, they all go to Bahrain, Qatar, UAE and Kuwait. In these countries they can drink alcohol, go to nightclubs and.....WHY NOT, Formula One? They leave Saudi Arabia on the way to the emirates because Saudi Arabia is a sacred land for the Muslims, they can't do a lot of things there....These small emirates are muslim countries aswell but Saudi Arabia is different, it's where you have some historical and sacred cities like Mecca and Medina (where not even strangers are allowed to get in) among other sacred cities.

That's a strong evidence F1 should've never gone to Middle East...you don't have a genuine local public and a large fanbase that go to the Race course with their families to watch a race, you don't have ANY racing tradition in those places.....all you got is some rich businessmen and Monarchy members wanting to display luxury.

Looking like a fun weekend ahead

Well they say that drivers these days are the "Playstation Generation", so in preparation for this weekend they've all been playing Call of Duty.

Predictions for a boring dry race

with a slight chance of murder
