anyone else thought Kimi got a preferential treatment by the FIA yesterday? Clearly some other drivers would have been penalised if they were released in the path of another car.

well, it's just that I was sure he was going to be penalised for it, but then proved to be wrong.

They were mentioning on Sky that it was considered acceptable this weekend because the pit lane was wider, and there was effectively two lanes that could be used.

to add to this, they have tracks where it's allowed and where it isn't allowed. The teams have always been moved slightly closer to the garages, to maximise the driving lanes.

This rule was introduced because it meant whoever was pitting second in the pit lane always lost out. If you pitted at the same time as a car behind, then you could never beat them out without being released "unsafely". It was always too close to do so, so whoever pits second would always either get a penalty or lose a spot. Now it's more fair.

Button saying the data shows that without the problem on his last stop they would have caught Rosberg with 2 laps to go.

On Rosberg's adjusted pace (because he clearly backed off knowing he had a 20 second lead after the stops) or on Rosberg's assumed pace he would of had if Button was still competitive? What a stupid thing to say.

Everyone who does this "what if" thing with Buttons pit stop has to do it with Schumachers pit stop too. What if both were good stops and Schumacher blocked him some laps? The winner would most likely still be Rosberg.

Here is one for the nerds

How many leaders did we have yesterday, which race in F1 has had the most drivers lead a lap? Because I recall looking at the timing and Massa was actually leading at one stage.

To add to what Math said, eight different drivers held P2 at some point in the race.

The closeness of this season means Monaco should be amazing.

Just watched the BBC broadcast as i was working on sunday and that was a great race like i was expecting cause i usually really like the Chinese grand prix. Also the first full race i saw with Ben Edwards as commentator and he owns.

I agree... I think I liked BBCs coverage better than SkyF1's.

Are the Meme creators of the world just editing out Petrov's flying Renault from Malaysia last year and pasting in Webber's Red Bull?

It might be chidlish but there's something in the deep recesses of my brain that thinks an F1 car popping a wheelie is hella cool!
