Okay so the way Hindhaugh and Shaw are taking it is that the other AF Corse around a hundred laps down tried to take out Hand?

If that's correct there surely has to be some pretty huge penalties given out there..

He still had to pass the Corvette though. And how did the Beretta get past? I'm so confused.

The last laps need to be rewatched... too bad the broadcast has ended already... it's all not very clear!!

Either way.... what an end to the race. In the last few hours you could tell that GT battle was going to end with something special.

The way I see it, the 51 Ferrari tried to take out the BMW, and while the 71 spun, the Corvette got past him into second place. Hand had the lead the whole time on the last lap.

I just tried to write up that GT situation in my racereport. It looks like I have written some sort of detective story.

One thing that's been lost in all of this is that the #16 Pescarolo was 3rd in LMP1.

The front suspension broke during Dumbreck's last stint.. unsure how it happened. The situation made worse by the fact that the team did not notice the collapsed suspension until after the car was sent back out again. They thought it was just a puncture at first.
Not sure how the car recovered after that. Certainly put it several laps down from where it was running. I think Karun drove the final stint to the finish.

I thought it was the rear suspension? Doesn't really matter, was a shame they dropped out.

I'm always amazed with ALMS races how civil and forgiving everyone is after blatant take-out manoeuvres, and how no one gets penalised. Hand had every right to ask for penalties against AF Corse, but didn't even mention it. Kinda surprising for a move that would be penalized even in BTCC.

Just edited my comment - on review the red was the #51 of Bruni, Beretta was in the #71 yellow Ferrari.
