'He'd been told to push'

Well, he wasn't pushing. He had two cars on his gearbox.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

But equally, Lewis was only a few seconds down the road from Jenson so had to back off.

Still, another McLaren fuck up hands it to Seb. Race is tomorrow though, should be a good'un

Meh it's better this way. The Mclaren seems faster, so Vettel will have a battle keeping P1 unless the Ferraris decide to jump the Mclarens with their crazy starts.

Well, Massa might decide to take his 2010 approach to Turn 1, so Lewis should be careful

Reports I heard had the red bull as much faster on heavy fuel runs. Could well be another drive away.

Something worth pointing out is that the Red Bull the fastest car by quite some margin on the long run's in FP2 & Christian Horner said earlier in the qualifying coverage that they have been focussing on tyre management all weekend for race performance.

Michael should've taken the shortcut at the Casio.

Vettel will probably make his customary good first few laps to get way ahead. SC on Lap 1 could change things though

Eddie and DC apparently just collided - both off to the stewards now.

Does the track really gain that much grip with each run that it's worth waiting till the absolute last moment of Q3 to make a run and risk running out of time like that?

To be honest, it looks like McLaren fucked up full stop. Jenson was only about 3 seconds ahead when Lewis got owned at the chicane. Lewis was in the trouble of not wanting to be too close to Jenson, but not wanting to drop too far back

EJ thinks Rosberg should be upto 14th place at the end of the 1st lap based on the speed of his car.

I think thats a bit optimistic.

#F1 Looks like there's a bug in the FIA timing system, there's a pretty good chance that Kobayashi should be 8th or even 7th

#F1 The rules say drivers who attempted to start a flying lap have priority over those who just went out of the pits and came in

#F1 The Renault drivers (and I believe Schunacher) got the chequered flag thus could not be deemed to have started a flying lap

#F1 Therefore they should all line up behind Kamui. It's pretty clear in the rules but the system couldn't deal with it automatically

Balls. I'll tune in for the first ten laps if I listen to my alarm and wake up. Qual is actually the first session I've seen this weekend!

If its dull I'll go back to sleep and catch it on iPlayer later in the week. Much rather be fully awake to watch the American Football in the evening anyway.

The way the tyres have been falling off, tomorrow could be this year's repeat of Canada 2010.
