Why people see the WTCC as in better health than the BTCC eludes me.

Oh yeah, and all that travelling will cost a lot more too...

It'll still pretty much be a Chevy playground next year too, good luck Aon!

I guess it's because of the World in the title that makes some think it's better...

Probably annoyed that despite the millions he's spent, only one of his sons is in the big world leagues. I almost hope this bankrupts him. :p

 So memorable I forgot their 2009. Edited for a pun :p

And I'm surprised he isn't pushing more to get Max to F1, he's not bad.

WTCC is just a waste of money.

The only decent thing Daddy Chilton's money has given motorsport was Onslow-Cole's championship charge in 2010.

Shame to lose Arena, never good to lose a front-running teams. Will be interesting to see what Motorbase can do with more support, they were always one of the best Independent teams.

What's Max Chilton doing now? He was average at best in his season in British F3, didn't seem like F1 material then.

Well he went on to achieve further average-ness in GP2. He did, however, test with Force India last week in Abu Dhabi.

He is still very young for the level he's at. Of course he's there because of money, but another season in GP2 at a decent team could see him develop into a half decent driver. Not great, but not Jason Tahinci levels.

There's a lot younger in GP2 than Max Chilton that (I reckon) have a lot more talent as well. In fact, a certain Sauber F1 driver is only a handful of months older than Max...

I remember when Max first entered British F3 in 2007 (with Arena...) with a huge amount of hype and fanfair for being the youngest ever driver in the series at 16 years old. 3 years in British F3 and one win to show for it, and that was when he drove for Carlin. I wish Max the best but he's unlikely to develop into a great single seater driver.

The Chilton hate in motorsport always rankles with me a bit.

Yeah, daddy is rich but, what the hell would you do in their position, "Sorry Dad I don't want that GP2 drive, I'm off to work down a factory!"

Nah, can't blame 'em really.

Can't really blame the petty jealousy their presence invokes either, that's just human nature.

The whole thing is just predictable and annoying IMO.

Tom might not be the best in the BTCC but compared to the age range of that series he's still learning and in about 10 years will be prime BTCC champion material :p
At least he doesn't get involved in deliberate punting off accidents and make your blood boil, like certain egotistical driver philosipher name'd people!
(And there's the traditional Plato slag everyone! :p )

You're misreading the situation Paul. There's no hate, more a general dislike of the over hype the sons receive. They're decent enough drivers but nothing more. They'll do well in to the future and good luck to them.
