Thing is though, I'm checking FOX's schedule, and they have new episodes from House and Alcatraz tomorrow, at 8. I wonder how FOX will feel about that. Probably the race will be called if they have more than 100 laps completed. Things won't get better for Tuesday, with that crap American Idol with a live episode also at 8.

Again, who gives a fuck? They can move that pre-recorded shit around. This is the biggest race in the biggest spectator sport. I seriously doubt they'll call a race early for some dumbass shows.

Most of the people who watch those shows (American Idol in particular) are just fat redneck chicks who love Dale Jr anyways. They'll be fine with it.

Looks like the weather window is best for later in the day tomorrow. Im only guessing a Monday evening Daytona 500. I mean why would they say 12pm when the normal rain delay start time is 11am. Looks to be just cloudy in the evening. NASCAR's version of Monday Night Football?

This is the same network that called the '09 race so FOX wouldn't miss out a special "CHECK OUT OUR SNAZZY NEW INTRO WOOOOOO" episode of The Simpsons. Anything's possible.

Also, I'll have to watch it on a stream between college classes, if all the streams aren't shut down by then.

Well Im pissed. I have work at noon, and while people might say "Oh you have a DVR box youll be able to see it when you get home" my asshole cable company has provided me with such a useless piece of technology here I have no guarantees as it only will play FOX clearly some of the time.

I guess all of us have the NFL and FOX to blame here and their idiotic need to push the 500 back a week. Look how well that turned out, weather was perfectly fine last Sunday!

I'm still wondering why it needed to be pushed back anyway.

NFL wanted an 18-week season and NASCAR didn't want to clash with DA BIG GAME

Which was weeks ago. How were they going to clash keeping the 500 last week?

Had NFL had gone with a 18 week season, the super bowl would've been on last weekend.

the NFL was rumored to make that change. nascar had to finalize their schedule before they knew for sure if the nfl was going to add 2 weeks or not, so they pushed daytona back a week just in case. the nfl ended up not changing their schedule, yet, so it makes nascar look stupid this season.

Nope, it was from the proposed 18-week NFL season.

They didn't go through it...yet. Making NASCAR look like idiots

Well, 1st time rained out in 54 years is not too bad, it probably wont get rained out for another 54 years to come... I just realy sucks that it messes up so many people who wont be able to see the biggest race of the year live... :(

I won't be home starting ~6pm tomorrow, so if it will be an evening race, I'm screwed...

Kinda off topic, but the NFL signed a 10-year CBA last year. Does this mean they wouldn't be able to change the schedule until the next CBA, or does that not apply in this case?

If so, could NASCAR just push the 500 back a week by next season?
