Wouldn't need to cover the whole track though, just the outer circumference to where the oval stays dry. Still bloody expensive but might be worth it for your biggest race of the season. Heck they wasted $10m on an unnecessary reconfig of Phoenix.

dont think this has been mentioned buuuuuuuuut the NBA all star game starts at 7:30ET. thats another one of their reasons of not wanting to do the race at night maybe

NBA All-Star Game coincidentally takes place not too far from Daytona Beach. Just an hour driver or so away in Orlando. That's a traffic jam for ya.
