I'm positevely impressed with Bottas' personality after watching this. He seems to be a quite serious and determined guy. Now I'm more curious to see what he will do next year.

edit: During the Austin GP week, the news about this documentary was posted on autosport forum, but as it was said to be just regurgitated, already well known footage, it didn't make much noise back then.

The final pieces of this small clip where we see people on fire are quite shocking, though.

Symonds will remain with Marussia when he is allowed to return to the paddock next year.

The Montezemelo\Ecclestone bitchfight rolls on.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

The thing is, Montezemelo is right. There is only so much more time F1 can continue to be managed in the way it is. For instance... if Bernie believes that 20 cars is the magic number for F1, then what happens when Red Bull finally pulls out of STR or another team (say FI) quits because of mounting debts or another team (say Mercedes) pulls out because the corporation feels there is no market for the marque to be represented as a manufacturer in the sport any longer? Does F1 need or want another 2009-esque mass exodus before Bernie realises the fundamental problem with the sport he manages?

A quality grid is all good and well but F1 has always had shit at the back struggling to get anywhere. I'd much rather have a full grid with a team or two shittier than HRT then a grid with 10 teams or less.

F1 also needs more cars to allow more drivers to chance to get into the sport and develop. Right now F1 is shooting itself in the foot.

I think there are a few ways to get bigger grids

- First off...kill the 12-team limit. If someone builds a car within the regulation, allow them to show up

- kill off the rule that both cars must have the exact same paintsheme. Cart (in it's top years) and NASCAR would never be so big if teams had to run the same sponsor on all their cars.
It will lower the cost for sponsors to step in while getting good exposure.

- Customer cars. This must come back. Anyone yelling that F1 is about constructors should buy a F1 history book... Looking at you Frank Williams.....
Car must be at least 1 year old.

- Stop messing up the rules every other year and stick to a set of rules that can last 4, 5 or more years. Evolution is cheaper than revolution.

I can agree with everything that micha said above. Also teams should be allowed to enter with one, two or three cars, what ever fits them the best, this is how it was done in the 80's, which was a great decade for F1.

----

The other news. The Brazilian GP this year was the race with most place changes on lap charts. Total of 147 place changes were made after lap one, but in statistics they only count the ones where the position has changed between completed laps. Still, 112 overtakes were counted, which is in the class of its own.

Most overtaking during a Gran Prix 1983-2012:

1. Brazil 2012 – 112 times

2. Canada 2011 – 89

3. USA-West Long Beach 1983 – 79

4. Turkey 2011 – 79

5. China 2012 – 72

6. Mexico 1990 – 70

7. Brazil 1983 – 68

8. Australia 1986 – 67

9. Portugal 1989 – 67

10. South-Africa 1984 – 66
