Yeah, Maldonado was so much improved after Silverstone that he ran into things and people in Hungary and Spa...

And as for all the "minor" points he lost, I don't recall a podium finish being classed as "minor", nor the top 6 finish in Australia.

Remember Pastor crashing in Australia gained Sauber 4 points etc.

I already said it, at the time, that the Hungary one (with PDR) only had a penalty because it was Maldonado involved.

Australia was indeed stupid but in Valencia you could also share some blame with Lewis. And those were the early ones.

For various reasons.

It's Chrysler/Lancia. For Fernando. As a gift from Montezemolo. For coming 2nd again. Bronze with silver trim.

A Lancia as gift from a Ferrari boss  :(

True, from what I've heard Jenson Button's dad was bloody dodgy when he ran a caryard dealership

But that's missing the point, which is you said he was much improved after Silverstone... yet he still had silly avoidable incidents, which means he wasn't much improved. In fact Maldonado seemed to calm down from Italy onwards, Brazil aside. Whether that was down to Grosjean's race ban and / or a serious talking to from Williams is anyone's guess.

And to call PDR a useless driver is laughable also.

My Dad used to rent the industrial unit next door, but he's never mentioned anything dodgy ... it's fairly well known that any money he had, and a lot that he didn't, went into getting Jenson's career going.

Also, my Granddad's from Glasgow and I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him for fear of ending up in the Clyde ... and he lives near the Solent now.

Maria de Villota has been named "Driver of the Year" by Car and Driver magazine.

Excuse me for potentially being a little insensitive here, but really? She managed to crash in a straight line test. Yes, she suffered horrific injuries, but that just goes to show she had no place in an F1 car. She was a liability in Superleague Formula and she damn near killed herself in her first F1 outing. There is no way she should have been voted "Driver of the Year". Unless it's the "Drove into stationary object in straight line testing" category.

Just as curious as Jenson's competition driver of the year. Don't know what happened there...

Probably one of those situations where someone suggested it and everyone else on the panel didn't object so as to not appear insensitive.

It's really ridiculous but I think this is exactly what happened.

Well, I did warn you. I make no apologies for it because it's exactly what she did. If she'd not hit the lowered tail and was absolutely fine she wouldn't have won.
