I like Gutierez, he has shown skill in gp2. Another season and he might have been a solid championship contender. Hopefully this move isn't too soon. I am excited to see him next year.

Do I think kobay would have made more sense as a driver choice? Yes. But if he has to go I don't mind their choice.

I've got nothing against Gutierrez, I just think Kobyashi has proved he deserved a seat in F1 and it's sad to see him go

I think apart from money Kobayashi's problem is that after 3 years he's only really shown himself to be good and nothing particularly special.

It is sad to see him go, he's been good and spectacular. But how can we know whether Gutierrez will do well unless he gets given a chance, like Koba was?

F1 only get's worse and worse :(

Unfortunatelly, Stef, our wish won't happen in near future, at least. They won't be looking to properly fix the car to allow close racing but rather just keep on with the fake gimmick entertainment that we have been watching in many races since it's introduction.

Please, those who are in favour of DRS, no need to start a big discussion here. I know DRS is better than processions but still some people wanted more from FIA and etc in order to improve the sport.

Oh right, so it's fine for you to moan about DRS and how it is a fake gimmick, but anyone who has a differing opinion and is in support of DRS is not allowed to answer your moans as it doesn't suit your negative agenda? That seems fair.

Feel free to start a large discussion about why you like DRS.

Lets discuss instead how it's not needed from 2014 because the teams all got together and decided to forgo their addiction to topside aerodynamics and legalise ground effect so the cars could follow closely without a mile of dirty air between the cars.

Oh wait, hang on, they decided not to do that for their own ends, so DRS it is, good!

I don't get why it's still getting a hard time either, we've learnt over this year that gear ratios, tyre disparity and KERS are just as likely to produce the Zip past on a straight as DRS is yet DRS gets all the flak.
Hamilton and Vettel last race proved it's not the instant overtaking button people think it is, yet still there's moaning after every race.
Usually by the fanboys of the driver who lost the race because of it, yet those who support the overtaking driver never say "Wow great win, great drive but man the DRS made it easy for my favourite driver to not use any of his amazing talent and just drive by..."

...Funny that...

Yeah, I feel like I'm going to vomit when ever that's on screen. And I don't even have any condition, epileptic people might get a seizure.

According to ESPN F1, Gerard Lopez almost confirmed Grosjean for 2013 (not a surprise)

I get why people like, Or at least see the need for DRS. Everyone spent years bitching & moaning about processional races & no overtaking & DRS does make passing easier & has increased the level of passing. However is quantity better than quality?

I dislike of DRS because I find the whole way its used with detection points, 1 second gaps, activation zones & only car behind having it available to be artificial. I also find the passing it does produce to be boring, unexciting & totally unsatisfying to watch.

My biggest problem with DRS however is that it does nothing to solve anything, Its a band aid that merely patching up the problem that hindered overtaking in the past & as long as its in place those problems are never going to be looked at.

Paddy Lowe said a year ago that DRS removed the need to make changes to the cars & circuits, Yet after India this year complained there wasn't enough passing because the cars were generating too much turbulent air only to then propose more DRS zones which will do nothing about the problem of turbulent air.

Regarding 2 DRS zones been used on most circuits from next year, Do we really need 2 zones on most circuits?

I pretty much agree with everything above. I was really excited when they announced a return to ground effects, and then it had to be taken away.

There have been so many rule changes over the years though, from Refuelling being banned (yay) to slicks coming in (yay) and many different rule changes in regard to aero flick ups, front wing size etc, and the reasoning you can derive from that is that the powers that be in F1 think aerodynamics are great and should not be touched, yet everything else can be changed in the name of overtaking...

I guess the teams have too much invested in their wind tunnels and designing to give up sucking the aero teat these days.

Until that far of, distant day that they give up the addiction to topside aero, I'd prefer DRS sticks around.

But then I've never been a purist. I like the BTCC ;)

The problem isn't DRS. The problem is that the FIA have killed off most of the innovation.

Bottas has now been confirmed for Williams next year!

This means that the name Senna will probably be seen for the last time in F1.

Bob Varsha looked like he was about to breakdown into tears saying his final goodbyes during the ending of the SPEED broadcast.

Will Buxton actually choked up on his final end of the race analysis.
