I actually think what happens is it depends on what they say. People sometimes only want to listen to what they want to hear.

JV "Circuits should have more gravel traps"
Fans "Oh, yeah, yeah, JV speaking out, standing up for the fans."

JV "Rosberg is the most complete driver on the grid."
Fans "Shut up Jacques, no one asked for your opinion. Everyone knows it's......"

I think Jacques Villeneuve knows much more about F1 than all of us together.

I'm pretty sure Lopez was confirmed by the team and another driver was being lined up beside him, some English guy but can't remember his name.

I remember that Lopez bring a bag of dollars for the team, which he never got back after the team failed to join the series.

USF1 was one of the most miserable attempts to join the F1 Circus, so bad that FIA dropped maximum entries from 26 to 24 during the 2009 season.

Did they? I don't remember that. All I remember is that the FIA did not accept any of the proposals from new entrants for the 2011 season but in 2009 Manor, Campos, Lotus and USF1 were all granted entries for 2010. That meant 26 cars were due on the grid for Bahrain. USF1 withdrew quite late.

It's a shame Lola weren't picked, they had been developing their car for a year and were almost ready to go

Blame the FIA then for having cold feet after the '97 Mastercard debacle.

which wasn't exactly Lola's fault but mainly Mastercard's for forcing them to join a year early....

Call me stupid but I still have a weak spot for their paintsheme. Even thought it's regarded as an ugly one by most.

What engine were Lola going to use? because the whole reason the others got picked was because they were going to use the Cosworth engins. It was politics and nothing more provoked by thet dick head Max Mosley. Prodrive should have been chosen but they were going to use a Mercedes engine.

Prodrive also didn't want to use Xtrac Gearbox and Hydraulics. And rightly so, the F1 units are garbage.

Too bad, I like it when drivers use DRS to the max.
