I need to be honest here. If it hadn't been posted on the forum, I would have never thought about the fact that it's 18 years ago of Roland's passing.

Couldn't have picked a more inappropriate race to reveal that if they had tried.

the Simtek, such a beautiful car. Always been a fan of the slightly purple tone.

Well, at least from Mark's perspective there'd be none of the ambiguity over whether he's contractually a number 2 or not.

Bit of a kick in the teeth for Perez, though.

A lot will depend on the direction the team goes on the exhausts.

Shit.. Who is going to replace Webber? I got a sneaky suspicion Kimi will as I don't think Red Bull will bring in Ricciardo or Vergne yet. Although if they did I got the feeling Ricciardo will get it judging by the first 4 races. I can't see Massa replacing Webber or even getting another drive. I think he was in the Indycar paddock for a reason now.

I can only see Ricciardo taking the seat, he is the ultimate successor, everyone else who is as promising is either tied to Ferrari (Perez, Kobayashi) or Mercedes (di Resta, Hulkenberg) in one way or another.

It sucks that despite having Perez contractually bound to them, they go for Webber. :( I think Perez is quite ready to go to Ferrari already and doesn't really need any more time to mature as a driver. Still, as long as Ferrari continue to run like this, he's better off at Sauber I guess. Maybe Ferrari fear that Alonso will bolt to Mercedes or Red Bull if they don't improve.

Maybe Ferrari fears Perez develops too fast and starts to causing problems for Alonso too early. And we know Fernando gets easily stressed with the view of the rear wing of his teammate right ahead of him.

But Webber will cause even more problems for Alonso.

18 years ago I woke up on sunday after witnessing the first time a driver being killed live on television. I remember it made me very sad.

But things were going to be even more sad and unreal...

RIP Roland. RIP Ayrton.

Kimi is too unpredictable, I wouldn't see him getting a Red Bull role, too scared he may do another Ferrari '08-'09 slump. Besides, he hasn't exactly trumped Grosjean yet, Grosjean has showed he can match him.

Yeah, because Ferrari was the best car and the team was totally supporting Kimi, he just didn't have any motivation and had too many ice creams.

And what kind of match has Grosjean been so far? He's not even close to Kimi in racing pace. Grosjean is fast, but I don't think he's shown anything yet that you could say that he's matching Kimi.

He also scored more points than anyone else in the last half of 2009 in a hunk of shit car even though he was really unmotivated and just wanted ice creams

Massa will only be able to get a bottom 3 team slot, Sauber won't take him, Caterham, Marussia or Hispania might. IndyCar would be well suited to him, plenty of mediocre F1 drivers have made it massive there.

But is he willing to take the wage-cut?? None of those teams I see able to give him a few million to drive for him. All three will be better of with cheap decent drivers instead of an expensive crap one. Save the money to invest in the car I'd say.

RIP Roland. RIP Ayrton.

This is strange. At this time I wasn't even born...
But my family in Brazil keeps me telling stories about Ayrton Senna. I read a lot of stories and watched a lot of films about Imola '94, but (fortunately) I will never feel the sadness like you all did.

Rest in peace Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna, keep racing in heaven!

If Webber thinks he has a better chance of winning a world title at Ferrari, he really should look at the recent history of the team. Whilst nobody would claim RBR to be 100% unbiased (maybe it is up till Horner, but we all know that above that they prefer Vettel), Ferrari are just flat out bent towards one driver and always have been. I see no reason for them to give Webber a fair shake whilst Alonso is sitting in the other seat.
