I'm sure there is a big empty spot somewhere in France where they can build a brand new Tilke track.

It's better to have a race at a good track every year than having 10 races at shit tracks every year.

Because it might be a stop-gap solution for them until Perez is ready to move over.

I don't know...

But Perez will stay with Sauber until the end of 2012. I've had it confirmed by several sources. (Which ultimately means he'll be in the Ferrari for China now I've said that)

There are plenty of options for Ferrari if they wish to "rest" Felipe Massa but not use Perez. Jarno Trulli is an obvious choice and has experience of a 2012 F1 car. Then there is Jaime Alguersuari.

Everybody has a price. Ferrari were willing to spend $50 million to get rid of Raikkonen and install Fred.

Frankly, I'd rather keep Massa than install Trulli. He spent half of last year pissing and moaning about the power steering, can you imagine how much he'd be going on about the current Ferrari?

Or, if Ferrari wanted to give themselves more of an edge, they could hire Sutil who has now abandoned his appeal against his conviction. Although he may be preoccupied with making sure that 'bastard in the silver car' never finishes a race.

I hope the alternation between French and Belgian GP doesn't happen but I have seen lot's of news of strikes and protests in Belgium, which leads me to assume they are not in good economical shape, as many other european countries, and giving money to Bernie is probably not on their priorities atm. So, unfortuanetely, this alternation seems very plausible

Well, he clearly thinks (or thought) that any testimony of Hamilton's would support his side of the story in the Lux trial, and he did feel very let down by Lewis' decision not to testify.

IIRC, the excuse Lewis gave for not attending was rather flimsy but from an outsider's perspective it is not difficult to see why he wanted to stay as far away from it as possible.

It was probably not Lewis' decision at all. Both personal an team management didn't want Lewis any now involved than he was. Bad for image and sponsors, etc.....

Sutil's a fuckwit anyway, he wouldn't do any better than Massa.

Don't see how that would be anything but a disservice to and a bad move for Kubica. If he gets slotted in he'll need at least a good chunk of the season to get up to speed and competitive, by which time he'll have been swapped out for Perez.

What would Kubica get out of a deal like that? Half a season in his dream team where he's guaranteed to underperform for the majority of the short contract he's got, and there's no way he'll win out over Alonso or Perez to be kept on.

After that the best option is a move to a midpack team, and he's had enough years running with those, why would he want to restart that stage of his career?

Belgium isn't doing that bad economicly. The strikes and protests are always coming from the same sector and are basicly from people who were given lots in the past, and who now have to give a little bit back because we all have to.

it still amazes me that a circuit, which is concidered as one of the best tracks on the calendar, is in jeopardy, and has to alternate with something that looks like a circuit from planet wxxcffexx...

it still amazes me that the race at Spa isn't or can't be an economic win/win situation for everyone (it's location is like close to France, Nehterlands and Germany), so you should have enough visitors, and the race at Barcelona faces no problems at all?

I mean, at Spa, not all the races have been epic, but it always rain somewhere during the weekend, seeing the cars fighting at the Raidillon is just amazing, all the drama we had there last couple of years...
