I couldn't be happier about Trulli leaving, a driver like him with such a huge talent and experience shouldn't stay in such a pathetic "sport", which is what Formula 1 as become.
No more boring Grand Prix for me, so long F1, i'm not gonna miss you !

Who knew Trulli was a member here  It's not a nice way to exit F1 (just like Barrichello) but Trulli really was past his prime. Quick over 1 lap, but his races have never been exceptional. He should be happy he managed that single victory, now move on to Indycar I'd say.

Mercedes found the one camera angle where the nose doesn´t bother that much:

That's a proper helmet camera angle.

Sad news for me. It will be the first time since 1970 that there won't be an Italian driver on the grid :/

It doesn't count if they didn't get within 107% to qualify. They were there.

Italy has a Catch-22. Ferrari is so popular that attention is focused on them. Italian drivers have never been that successful - only Ascari won a title - while they need money. Italy is in a bit of financial shit at the moment.

Are there any decent italian drivers in feeder series?

Not that it would say anything. Liuzzi raped everyone in F3000 and look where he is now.

Kevin Ceccon is about the only one who could make it. Luca Filippi & Davide Valsecchi probably aren't good enough.

Although there is this girl http://www.vickyracing.it/eng/mese_luglio.php who has just been confirmed in GP3

And it would give us something to laugh at when she makes Deletraz look competitive.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

We had a lot good Italian drivers in the lower formulae or karting, look at Modena, Capelli, Tarquini or Luizzi

They struggled in F1 or faded quite quickly.

Have we had that many paying drivers than before? Must be hard for the teams to attract sponsorship in this current economic climate.

I know italians might be sad but between having Trulli on the F1 grid and nobody, it's almost the same. I honestly didn't know what he was doing in F1, for so many years being only a number on the grid. Italy should focus on new talents, definetly.

Vicky Piria a good restart, why not? Making her debut in GP3 this year, she's pretty but who knows she's fast enough to deserve a F1 seat on the future? Who knows...
